COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

Thank you Mathieu87 + PriorL for the effort! Bomber sampled @ Samson en Geert Bierproef Avond. Black, little, almost no head. Nose is very thick licorice, huge bitter roast, almost chemical roast, charred. Taste is far too bitter, almost chemical bitter, roast, hugely roasted mat, charcoal, burned malt, thick malt, roast, charcoal, boozy, molasses. Far too bitter but otherwise pretty decent even if not on par with many other beers within the style.

Black beer with minimum head. Strong and dark aroma has licorice, chocolate, roast and dried fruits. Taste is sweet, licorice, roasted and dark malty with coffee and bread. Long coffee aroma at the end. Full body, sweet, but no too. Oily, no alcohol. Wonderful, even if B.O.R.I.S. was even better.

BlazerT (1193) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - NOV 11, 2016
Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with small to medium, thick, light brown head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma are mainly roasted malts - dark, bitter chocolate and roasted oats, some espresso notes. Lightly caramel notes, along with lightly soy sauce, woody and ashy sensations. In the background very light dark fruits (berries) notes. Taste is medium bitter, it intensifies thru the degustation. You can feel also some lightly acidic notes. Full body, thick & creamy texture, soft to average carbonation, finish is medium bitter, dry, roasted and astringent. Lightly warming. In general once again overrated Hoppin Frog beer. This RIS is solid, based on roasted malts, dry, nicely balanced, but do not deserve 4.0 or above note. But BA version is far more better, gives it complexity and more friendly character by nice vanilla and fruity notes. If you want to spent money only on one of this choose BA version !!

Pitch black in the glass (one of the darkest beer I’ve seen) with a lovely dark tan colored head. Nice viscous lacing. The aroma is complex with huge amount of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and burnt sugar, also dark fruits like dried plums and some toffee sensation. Flavour is deep coffee with dark chocolate, medium sweet and light bitterness but very balanced overall. Again caramel, burnt sugar and hints of licorice in the end. Full body, creamy thick mouthfeel and a soft carbonation. A sipper for sure. Enjoyed it very much.

65cl bottle. Pours black with nice tan head. Aroma is chocolate, cereals, dark malts, dark fruits, etc. The flavour is the same with coffee notes. The roasted malts are strong on the palate with pleasant bitterness as well. Full body, good carbonation. Very intense and tasty.

Aroma - hot and high alcohol dominates, rich roast, coffee, and extremely deep is some oat. Appearance - the body is black, the head a beautiful light chocolate brown and 2+". Some alcohol cloying, with suds sliding on the glass. Taste - has deep roast, oats, rich caramelized sugars, and some slight coffee. The alcohol is there, but deceptive. Palate - full body, slick and thick texture, carbonation is average, the finish is astringent with deep roast.

650 ml bottle @Kitty’s. Poured black color with a thick brown head. Molasses, roasted malt, licorice, coffee. Flavor has roastedness, coffee, molasses, ash. Heavy, stuffy, nice in small doses.
