Beware! Beware! The Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will destroy your taste buds like no other. More hops and more malt than BORIS create a super deep roasted and full bodied flavor, making this the great, great grand daddy of all stout styles.

Silky, near black, pour with a brown smallish head. Roasted malts, cocoa, and herbal hops in the forefront of the aromas. Some ashes and tar in the background, but not disturbing, just another layer. Thick and chewy feel. Sweet start. A slightly over baked molasses cookie comes to mind. Hint of pine and citric zest near the finish. Finish is fairly dry. Some licorice, dried fruit and black malt bitterness in the long linger. Flavors don’t come together that well for me, but they certainly keep things interesting. Didn’t notice the alcohol until now when my stomach seems to be mildly ablaze.

An aromatic and flavor explosion. The nose delivers very well blended, the roasted aromas of a stout with the citrus aromas of the hoops. Finishes great with a blended mix of fruits and bitterness, great beer!!

Bottle at home. Three years old. Has a pitch black color with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate, truffles, oak, coffee, piney hops, biscuit and leather. The flavor starts with ash, dried fruit, dark chocolate, coffee, pine and ends very roasted in the aftertaste. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, full-bodies and a medium bitterness. Roasted ale but still some hops after years with aging.
