Smells like liquid Christmas, tastes like liquid gingerbread, and looks like a brown ale. Superb. djd07 (14561) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2015
On tap at The Wine Bar Destin. Pours a cloudy copper brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with strong spices, cinnamon, caramel, rich malt, hides alcohol well, very good. Ron (3962) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 28, 2015
Bottle received from Erica and Chris at Christmas. Pours a copper brown with small dissipating head and no lace. Aroma is a lot of nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. Taste is much the same as the aroma. It is like eating gingerbread. A little hop bitterness balances it out. The malt hides the alcohol well. Very warming though. Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Peter’s leaving do. Picked up at CPK about four years ago. Pours clear amber with a creamy off-white head. Despite the beer’s age, the aroma is outrageously pungent, with lots of Christmas fruitcake, candied fruits, cinnamon, stewed apples. Medium sweet flavor with some rich fruitcake, bread, toasted grains, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, some booze. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little sticky sweet, with buckets of wintery spices, fruitcake, ripe berries, some toffee. Rich. Very tasty for a spiced winter beer.
