COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

A murky honey colored beer with a smallish white head, some lacing. Very nice aroma: new leather shoes, dried orange zest, old grocery bags with green topped onions stored in them, that finishes with a mild pine. Taste is surprising in the lack of a hop bite. The mouthfeel is satisfactory with a pine aftertaste that turns plastic as it warms… the Achilles of most IIPA type beers.

From a bottle. Hazy deep orange pour, with a beige head. Grapefruit and tropical fruits overlie a distinctly earthy malt note -- that’s definitely the rye. The rye really gives it a weightier flavor -- there’s some funk and a lot of character in here, and it finishes on an acerbic note, moving through tropical fruits to a super-bitter pine/grapefruit. Packs a huge flavor punch for being 7%. Quite interesting, and definitely tasty.

Bottle, 22oz. A big, off-white head forms over an unclear, hazy dark golden to amber body. The aroma is resiny and citrusy with some maltyness. Bubble gum hints, lemon and a faint peppery hint. It could use a tad more bitterness, as the malty sweetness has too much room. Lemon, resins and some bubble gum and pepper hints. Full body, a tad too sweetish and carbonated, but very silky on the palate. Lasting finish with citrus peel and pine cones. A nice one indeed, although a tad too sweet. 130222
