American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Exceptionnelle !

Slightly fruity and floral fragrance. The taste is fruity and has a heavy bitter taste. Heavy bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the mouth a long time. But bitter for me. Otherwise good. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Serving: Bottle. Ruddy amber pour with a small head. Nice citrus notes with overripe orange, tangerine, and light tropical notes. Sweet malts up front with plenty of citrus hops jumping in and finishing with a rye spiciness. Lingering bitter finish.

"This Rye IPA has more in common with a beer like Wookie Jack than say Hop Rod. More IPA than Rye, though the spiciness is obvious. Big, fruity hops of the nose and palate. Like peach/arpicot crossed with rye spice. Very pleasant all around, but the kicker was the uber-smooth mouthfeel. It put this one over the top a little. Well done."

Tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pors clear, golden amber with a nice, fluffy, white head. Aroma has sweet, exotic fruits. Fruits smells almost artificial in a good, bubble-gum-like way. Hops and a nice, caramel-malty sweetness. Taste has a nice mix of the malty sweetness, and the fresh, crispy hops. Almost has some sparkling muscat wine to it. Hops are not very bitter, and the beer actually could use that in my opinion. The fairly high alcohol suits this beer really well. Medium-full body and a medium carbonation.

Tap @ Fermentoren. IPA rating #100. Well, okay? .. Did not see that coming. Pours hazy amber with a beige head. Aroma of grape fruit, juicy hops, orange, pine, resin and with a malty backbone. Taste has those same notes and is kinda bitter and sweet. You can feel the rye here as well. Classic American rye IPA.

Tap. Pours cloudy orange with creamy tan head. Aroma is hoppy with exotic fruits, passion fruit and sweet malt. Taste is citrusy and floral, to the sweet side, bit bready and smooth bit oily texture. Medium bitter to bitter finish. Deserves the juice tag.

Bottle from Hoppin Frog in Akron. Enjoyed at home in my snifter. Pours a deep copper with a small white head. Ring lasted and some minor lacing. Aroma is rye bread, light toffee, light citrus, spruce, cereal grains. The taste is serious rye flavor, cereal grains, pine, cooked spinach, and mild citrus. Finish is bitter with pine and wilted lettuce. Medium light body, moderate carb. Good beer.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2017 The aroma is quite malty and alcohol. Color is a pale orange. Taste is flavorful American hops but filled with malt more of an imperial ipa. Spicy malt profile from the rye malt. Very bitter aftertaste. A bit over carbonated palate profile. For me something is a bit off which prevents it from reaching great ipa status. Still a very good beer.
