Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Deep ruby, mid sized head. Rich malty raisin aroma. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Rich bready malt, covered in figs and honey. Mildly warming finish. Solid and well made. josanguapo (2097) - SPAIN - NOV 11, 2017
From Zombier. In Teku glass. Watching Stranger Things 2x08-09. Fairly standard doppelbock, with the usual profile of the style. Smooth the palate, with plenty of toffee and with the alcohol very noticeable GregMooreNH (371) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 21, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2017 If there are two things I enjoy in beer, they are doppelbocks and Hoppin' Frog, so my expectations were very high with this beer. Starts with a great pour and a deep, rich malty aroma. Sadly, the taste didn't keep up. Mouthfeel was peaty, not the malty flavor that I expected. Has a strange tang which seems out of place in a doppelbock. In all, not a bad beer, but not the deep, rich taste one might expect. melush (5049) - SPAIN - JUL 11, 2017

Thanks Jim for the bottle!
Poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a ruddy dark amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Left some stringy sliding lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts, dark bread - somewhat sweet, moderate amount of earthiness, light sweet wood, toast, caramel/toffee malts, sweet grains and a little bit of dried leaves.
The flavor moderately blended the sweet to the roast with an ample amount of earthiness riding in on the background. Aftertaste was dark breads and grainy sweetness. Light dark bready sweet sort of finish.
The palate was medium bodied with a fair sessionably smooth aspect to it. Carbonation and ABV both felt good. Fairly smooth to the tough along my tongue.
Overall, really nice doppelbock that I would have again, preferably in the Autumn or early Spring. JPDIPSO (6317) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 1, 2017
Dark amber color with a moderate off-white head. Scents of grains, brown sugar, and hint of herbal hops. Sweet and sticky. Not a clean bockator. 3/13
