Extremely rich and malty German-style lager, so intense that it’s named after our founder! Karminator Doppelbock has a traditional double-bock flavor, brewed with an over-abundance of the absolute highest quality imported Munich malt to create an irresistible toasted barley flavor, with hints of caramel & toffee. Alot of care, time, and know-how has gone into creating this complex, memorable, and majestic lager.

Woody brown hue with a thin light beige head that dissipates somewhat quickly. Very interesting nose of a perfumey citrus and boozy toffee malt, a kiss of bubblegum, a light kiss of chocolate. Full and boozy malty flavor with a light kiss of bubblegum and floral citrus, a nice complex body and flavor so layered it’s hard to dissect. There’s honey and floral hops and toffee and bock malt and light toast and something slightly perfumey.

Extremely well rounded beer. Nice dry finish good residual sweetness, and a delicious bready maltiness... Great job!!

Tap at Uiltje, Haarlem. Murky brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma of sweet malts, caramel, light roasted, sweet alcohol. Taste is sweet, sweet malts, sweet alcohol, sweet candy sugar aftertaste. Not too bad, just don’t like this particular style’s sweetness.

(Draught at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, 14 Oct 2015) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with dried fruit, raisins, prunes, caramel and a slightly vinous finish with a balanced spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Potent and warming, but still in good balance and really tasty. Very nice.

Draft @ beertemple. Aroma of caramelised malt and wheat. Flavor of sweet ripe dark fruit, figs, caramel, raisin and some booze. Like a mix of doppelbock and us strong ale.

On tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Bruxelles. Hazy reddish amber, small off white head. Aroma is dark fruits, spices, light buttery note. Taste is similar, very well balanced, thick oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Maybe it lacks something in the roasted malts department, enjoyable nonetheless. BTW, the grumpy fat bearded hipster working here is half an an asshole, beware.

Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Deep red amber, small tanned head. Nose is hugely sugary, candy, light Churchkhela, syrupy, thick candy with some cough syrup, interesting & pleasant smell. Taste is unfortunately overly heavy on very herbal & very thick cough syrup, herbal licorice, candy, red grapes, molasses. Lower carbonation. Too much herbal cough syrup for me, interesting but not really for me.
