650ml bottle @Stadin panimobaari. Pours copper color with a thin white head. Aroma has memma, dark bready notes, nutty notes. Flavor has sweetness, liquid bread, mämmi. Sweet, very malty. 77ships (11408) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 11, 2015
Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Deep red amber, small tanned head. Nose is hugely sugary, candy, light Churchkhela, syrupy, thick candy with some cough syrup, interesting & pleasant smell. Taste is unfortunately overly heavy on very herbal & very thick cough syrup, herbal licorice, candy, red grapes, molasses. Lower carbonation. Too much herbal cough syrup for me, interesting but not really for me. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 26, 2015
From notes. Poured medium-deep amber with a dusting of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet fruity and nutty notes paired with some warm vanilla.. fairly hot overall. The flavor found warm, grainy caramel, molasses, and nutty notes at the core.. black peppery notes around and through the finish.. sweet backbone. Heavier-bodied and hot on the palate.. only an OK flow. This was aiight. Craftmember (41) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 22, 2015
Bottle bought at the Hoppy Loft Brussels. Alengrin (5788) - BELGIUM - SEP 21, 2015
It pours a misty red amber with a small tanned head.
A very rich and nicely complex aroma with above all sweet malts, liquorice, vanilla, hay, hops, touch of silty soy-sauce and smoked meat.
Taste is intriguingly complicated too with meaty sweet and roasted malts, honey, vanilla, fruity citrus notes, umami, sweet meats, bayleaf, some hopbitterness and a nutty madeira like, silt edged aftertaste with a hint of cocosbread and white pepper. It’s got a fizzy though smooth, light oily mouthfeel.
Oh what a wondrous brew this is. Love it very much indeed!
Bottle bought and generously shared by Craftmember, from Delirium Hoppy Loft. Hoppin’ Frogs top-fermented take on the German Doppelbock style. Thin, lacing, stable, pale beige head over a hazy burgundy coloured beer with reddish glow. Rich and beautifully perfumed aroma of melting milk chocolate and Belgian chocolate ’truffels’, hazelnuts, vanilla, touch liquorice, kahlua, caramel, Worcestershire sauce, marmelade, baked banana, madera, marzipan, even a suggestion of coconut. Sweet, soft, fluffy onset, very caramelly, Belgian chocolates, dates, almond, banana cake, umami flavours adding complexity, slight hint of soy sauce, bready malts, smooth with a toasted touch, very light but well-dosed sourishness as well as a light spicy hop bitterness in the end, remaining in the background not to overpower the feast of malts as it ought to be in a Doppelbock, and some warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Adorable, this brewery is gradually conquering the malthead in me...

Bomber. Huge malt aroma with toffee and caramel malt as well as a bit of toasted barley. Pours caramel colored with a thin tan head with little retention or lacing. Starts with rich caramel and toffee flavors and sticky sweetness. Finishes smooth with sticky sweet caramel an toffee. Excellent, malt bomb of a bock! yngwie (17262) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 16, 2015
On tap at the tap room, nitro edition. A creamy finger thick off-white head forms over a hazy chestnut colored body. The aroma is quite malty, with toffee, bread, nuts, some dried fruits and brown sugar. It’s full bodied super smooth and lightly warming on the palate. Caramel, bread, dark sugar and dried fruits in the flavor. Lasting finish with too much sugary sweetness. A bit heavy on a hot summer afternoon, but sure nice. 150616 djd07 (15704) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 12, 2015
Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is caramel, toffee, dark fruit. Thin mouth, very sweet, flavors match nose, light booze, very good. BeerBunker (966) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - JUN 6, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of malt, grain, dark fruit, and grass. Taste is very malty, with dark fruit and grain. Fair amount of sugar. Lingering grain and dark fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and sticky. Body is medium and decently carbonated. Damn good.
