Extremely rich and malty German-style lager, so intense that it’s named after our founder! Karminator Doppelbock has a traditional double-bock flavor, brewed with an over-abundance of the absolute highest quality imported Munich malt to create an irresistible toasted barley flavor, with hints of caramel & toffee. Alot of care, time, and know-how has gone into creating this complex, memorable, and majestic lager.

Thanks Jim for the bottle! Poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a ruddy dark amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Left some stringy sliding lace. The aroma had some sweet and roasty nuts, dark bread - somewhat sweet, moderate amount of earthiness, light sweet wood, toast, caramel/toffee malts, sweet grains and a little bit of dried leaves. The flavor moderately blended the sweet to the roast with an ample amount of earthiness riding in on the background. Aftertaste was dark breads and grainy sweetness. Light dark bready sweet sort of finish. The palate was medium bodied with a fair sessionably smooth aspect to it. Carbonation and ABV both felt good. Fairly smooth to the tough along my tongue. Overall, really nice doppelbock that I would have again, preferably in the Autumn or early Spring.

Dark amber color with a moderate off-white head. Scents of grains, brown sugar, and hint of herbal hops. Sweet and sticky. Not a clean bockator. 3/13

McWorta (1633) - LUXEMBOURG - SEP 2, 2016
Deep copper colour with a frothy light beige head, good lacings. Aromas of toasted bread, chocolate, caramel, toffee, some hay and a light herbal note develop. Soft carbonation, slick and full bodied. Sweet with a light herbal bitter touch. Lasting finish. Nice work.

Appearance: Deep red copper. Thin head of white foam. Almost clear. Nose: medium roasted caramel malt forward. Aspects of dark stone fruit and tobacco Taste: Sweeter malt forward with aspects of molassess, earth, black cherries and a touch of raisin Body: fuller and round Parting thoughts: a big dopplebock. I like it.
