Rich malty flavors of caramelized and toasted grains dominate this robust Scotch ale. A hint of rye adds a crisp, scotch-like, old-world beer character, reminiscent of a simpler life from centuries ago. It’s a wee-bit heavy.

Small, diminishing beige head, that leaves just a thin cover above the near copper colored liquid, that have just a hint of haze. Sweet aromas, with an earthy, estery backdrop. Has some hints of being a red, but really just seems to be a bit unclean. Thicker, lightly oily feel. Caramel, fruit and alcohol flavors. I think the alcohol dominates the spice that might be found from the rye. A bit too much out of balance for me. 8/10

Appearance: clear, dark orange, amber, tan foam, minimal head, disappears fast. Aroma: honey, alcohol, bread, some toastiness. Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, very nice balance. Palate: medium body, average carbonation, oily feel, astringent, bitter, long finish.

Pours hazy amber with little head. Very malty with almost no hop presence. I’m not a fan of overly hopped ale but this one needs more...very little character to this.

Draft 0.15l at The Beer Temple Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 24.05.2016. Taste with Zlotta. Pour it little bit hazy amber color with small white head. Aroma red fruits, sweet bubble gum note. Taste of apples, spices, red fruits, figs, little bit grassy thing. medium body, slick feel, average carbonation. Classic Scotch Ale I think.

Hazy deep Amber with a thin ivory cap that recedes a little faster than I like, leaving behind a thin ring of foam around the edge of the glass. A little earthy Amber malt and a little peat. Smooth and not at all boozy flavor with some earthy Amber scotch malt, and a mild British bitterness. Smooth and amberish, very balanced and slightly Scottish.

Keg at CBC CG, London. It pours a clean golden color with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet and sticky with notes of plums raisins and other dark fruits. Taste is sweet and lightly boozy with more vanilla dark fruits raisins and toffee. Medium bodied with OK carbonation. Overall, quite sweet

Zlotta (4129) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2016
Sampled from tap at ’Beertemple’. Clear, deep red with a frothy, tan head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, strawberry jam and jelly. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, strawberry jam and jelly, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little spicy finish with notes of juniper. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Nice, but not very deep.

Sample at CBC 2016. Malty smell with toasted sugar and caramel. Similar taste. Very sweet. For the sweet tooth. Nice.

@Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016, RED

coppery clear. Red malty, piney nose. Some sweets, med bodied, bit rubbery doughy, ok tho.
