3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark brown, with a fairly thick and lasting lace - aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, black cherry, berry-like character, a bit of vanilla and brown sugar - very smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with a medium body - a little abrasive up front, but it smooths out fast - flavors of chocolate, coffee bitterness, dark fruit and blueberry - a little bit of tobacco and leafy character - a little doughy on the back end - it’s a solid porter, but it isn’t one that I am going to drop 9 bucks on a bomber of again any time soon.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bottle. Pours a deep almost blackish brown with these wonderful ruby red hues when held to the light....but the head was dissapointing - small bubbly tan that didn’t leave much lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, some toasted nuts, cherries, touch of vanilla and the slightest hint of coffee. Flavor is actually considerably different. Almost harsh roastiness, light smoke, dark chocolate, burnt coffee, slight nutty/toasted malt thing going on and some moderate hop bitterness. A little thin.

Bottle bought at Gl. Strand Øl & Vin, Copenhagen. Slowly fading beige head resting on top of a deep, dark brown body. Roasted dark malts to the nose. Bittersweet flavours of anise, dark malts, sweet cocoa and some citrus hints. Very smooth, silky and gentle palate. Medium bodied (shared with Eva, hotel room, Copenhagen 19.09.2008).

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle poured into an English pint. HFSP pours deep ruby, nearly black with a mocha-colored head of medium-size. The nose is subtle and of dark cherries or maybe blueberry. There’s also some vanilla in there. it smells wonderful. Wow! The blueberry flavor comes through quite distinctly without tasting artificial. I wouldn’t have guessed this flavor in this beer by the description. As a former brewer I’ve never had a blueberry flavor come out without actually adding blueberries; it is very interesting. This beer will get extra points for originality. The body is typical porter, medium heavy. The finish is surprisingly quick.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to STLWill. Black color with a thin head. Roasty aroma with a little lactose. That milk stands out a lot in the flavor. Some fruit, primarily blueberry, rounded off by some roasted malt.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Roasted and toasted cereals build a suave body alongside blackberry-like fruitiness in this smooth and quaffable Porter.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the lightly hazy blackness.
-Although the flavor profile is relatively simple, it is highly pleasant and well constructed.
-Cereal sweetness tends to overcome the hoppiness or roasty dryness, but if you like chewing malts like I do, you should like this brew.
-The finish is a continuation of the flavor profile; there are no surprises here, just malty goodness.
