Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

Bomber. Pours dark brown with thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate with a little coffee. Flavor is mostly roasted malt and chocolate with some coffee at end to add some bitterness. Nice rich porter that finishes a little dry. Nice porter.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2010 In short: A standard highly roasted American stout/porter. Slightly above average
How: Bottle 22oz, drank about 3 months after purchase
The look: Black body topped by an initially large tan head with medium retention
In long: Nose of roasted coffee beans, some smoke and charcoal. Taste is highly roasted, burnt dark malts held together by some tar. Milky black-chocolate (the low-cacao % kind), some black coffee and some molasses. Not much in the way of bitterness, finish is chocolaty roastiness. Some dark grapes as the beer warms up. A bit too sweet but the high roastiness level hides it pretty well and creates a light dryness sensation. Body is comfortably soft and full. Carbonation is relaxed. Overall this is a good beer. It’s highly roasted/burnt character makes it a bit rough around the edge so if this is their Silk Porter then their Robust Porter must grate the tonsils.

Pours black with a thinnest of thin dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, toffee. Light sweetness, enough hops to be noticed.

This is a very dark porter with faint mahagony hues when held against the light. Foamy brown head that shrank to a lasting slick on the beer. Pretty subtle nose with some roast grain and coffee notes. I get an odd, almost berry flavor in this, like they bottled the berry beer first and didn’t clean out the lines. Strong coffee in the finish, with some chocolate and burnt toast. I can’t get past that raspberry thing. Interesting porter.

Bottle at Tre Små Rum, Göteborg. Black color, small brownish head. Nutty aroma, a bit dry and with malty notes. Malty nutty flavor, some hops, chocolate and some toffee. Malty toffee finish.

Pours an opaque black colour with a thin beige head that fades to a thin film. The nose is deep, rich and roasty with nuances of dark roasted coffee, chocolate, nougat and heavily roasted caramel malts. The flavour is equally powerful and roasty, with rich chocolate and coffee in the finish. The hopping is mild, but appropriate. The palate is as advertised...silken, with a long, decadent finish.

Bottle. 10 cl. sample. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and roasted malts in a nice mix. Feels slightly metallic; not like a distinct note, but more of a feeling it has to it. Flavour is sweet and roasted with slight metallic notes. Dry, roasted coffee finish. Great. Finish is better than the initial flavour; a 7 for the latter and 9 for the former, which lands it at an 8. Overall a very fine brew. 28-10-08.

Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - OCT 28, 2008
Black of color with a small beige head. An aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and weak dark fruits. A flavor of roasted malt, coffee and weak chocolate. Pretty nice porter!
