COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Evil BBW is fermented with both British and Belgian yeasts to create a memorable smoothness for this Belgian-style barley wine-style ale. Sweet malt flavors will become smoother and rich dark fruit characters will build with time to add a wonderful complexity and depth of flavor

Poured from a 2 year old bottle obtained from the brewery. Aroma is a yummy caramel brown sugar and booze. Appearance is a red amber with a 1 finger light tan head that vanishes quickly. Taste is well balanced with dark fruits caramel and a boozy presence. Palate is like drinking a cognac with a slight fizz. Overall an excellent beer but I recommend aging it two years or so. Cheers!

Poured from an aged 2 year old bomber into a Hoppin Frog snifter an slightly cloudt deep amber with a head that left quickly. Aroma is brown sugared dark fruits. Flavor is phenom! Had a couple of years ago and liked but age makes this brew exquisite. Think a caramelized prune with a touch of citrus to balance the sugar. Smooth to the mouth. Faint funk here says this is not your typical American Barleywine. Fred makes some amazing brews and this is definitely one when aged for awhile.

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2014
650ml bottle. Fairly bright clear copper shade. Thin head. Really overtly fruity on the nose at first, and perhaps not in a good way. Also a darker, smokier malt presence crashing against yeast. Taste is brown sugar, toffee, notably sweet even for a barley wine. Syrupy mouthfeel. A better idea on paper than in reality but not totally without merit.

Butelka Piana niska, szybko znika. Barwa miedziano-bursztynowa. W aromacie rodzynki, winogrona, miód, wanilia. W smaku dochodzą jeszcze cytrusy, biszkopty i po ogrzaniu bakalie. Słodkie, likierowe. Alkohol świetnie ukryty. Goryczka niska.

Pours a dark amber color, very little head to it. Aroma is very sweet with caramel, sugar, toffee, some plum, and candy. Taste followed the nose pretty much on point. Way too overly sickly sweet for me. Shared bottle with friends who all said the same thing. Not something I liked.

Bomber given to me via PUB’R from the brewery. Pours clear deep coppery orangy colored with minimal off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, boozy, mild hops and vinous fruit. Tastes thick, syrupy, a bit cloying, with big malty sweetness, some fruitiness, and some honey and spirits in the finish, which stays thick. This is a sipper, and a sharer.

65 cl bottle @ PBF IX.
Pours clear mahogany color with a minimal head. Aroma is very sweet and syrupy, some caramel, ripe fruits and even some tropical fruit notes, faint hops too. Flavor of caramel malts, some alcohol burn, ripe fruits, resin, syrup, toffee and earthy notes, mild wooden notes on the finish. Quite sweet and the alcohol somehow manages to crawl through it. Might improve with age, maybe.

65cl bottle @ PBF Ⅸ
Vertical with Barrel Aged version
Aroma has malty tones, some caramel and toffee. Alcohol is present in the backgound, but not disturbing. Flavour is rather sweet with lots of caramel and some apricot. This is more sweet than the BA version and also more straightforward.
