Refreshing. Great summer alternative to lemonade. Not sure why all the haters... My wife and I both thought it was quite good... lemon, then maltiness, no hops. MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 16, 2013
ahhh yeah, ah yeah. This is the perfect summer beer.
Lemon, and a little orange aroma.
Amazing sweet lemon/citrus taste. So smooth and light and refreshing.
Like Leine’s Summer Shandy super charged. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Pours hazy pale yellow with small white fizz. Smells very citrusy and has a strong lemonade character. Taste is citrus fruit and then lemonade. Light-bodied with a prickly texture and lively mouth-carbonation, Hoppin’ Frog Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale finishes with a little citrus bitterness. Cant believe I havent rated this yet. This beer is pure schto cooler juicebox from the 80’s-90s. So Rad. Pours cloudy golden yellow, aromas of echto cooler, orange slices, capris sun, lemonade, hops. Taste is sugar lemonade, orange juice, and slimer juicebox. Not my style but this one brought me back. patrickfannon (1241) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 14, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Vinnie on multiple occasions, one being tonight. Pours a light yellow straw with a fuzzy white, thin head. Aroma of granny apples, pure fresh squeezed lemonade, pinapple Haribo gummy bears, Orange Crush soda, and Ectoplasm Hi-C. And get this: it tastes like a cleaner, lighter, slightly boozy version of an Orange Crush. Holy fucking shit. This is the ultimate in extreme refreshment and delicious, rich tastes. Finishes with an effervescent, silky smooth lemon wash.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, summer 2015 bottling. Pours lightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a ring of lace that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big lemonade, lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, wheat, cracker, light honey, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of lemon/citrus, bready malt, and light earthy hop/yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemonade, lemon peel, lime, grapefruit, wheat, cracker, light honey, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness, yeast spiciness, and citrus tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemonade, lemon peel, wheat, cracker, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness and balance of lemon/citrus, bready malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; with great malt/spice/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent shandy style! All around great robustness and balance of lemon/citrus, bready malt, and light earthy hop/yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering. GandGKevin (934) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUL 25, 2012
Can’t believe I haven’t rated this as it is one of my favorite Hoppin Frog beers. Citrusy lemon flavor that is smooth and thirst quenching. No way you could tell it was 7% ABV. Did I mention it was tasty, very tasty! I love it when it’s 90 degrees outside and I’m grillin’. Just sippin’ Turbo Shandy and burnin’ the ’dogs. hunter112 (67) - Nanuet, New York, USA - JUN 3, 2013
This is refreshing, the only shandy I had tried before it was Leinie’s. This tastes better, and I just wish I had bought more on my recent trip to Ohio. beerbaaron (1998) - Arizona, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Clear, straw yellow. Small white head. Citrus, lemon, yeast. Sweet. Lively and superbly refreshing and thirst quenching. Perfect lighter side of medium body. By far my favorite shandy Ive tried. NOTHING better after some time in the summer sun. 22oz goes down in minutes... adrian910ss (2572) - Doylestown, PA, USA - JUN 13, 2011
22 oz bomber. Pours a cloudy gray yellow orange with a very tiny quick fading white head. Aroma of a lemony orange fruit concentrate and orange gum. Taste of lemony orange fruit soda. Hard to believe this is classified as beer.
