A very nice hefeweizen. Tons of clove and banana is this beer. Slick mouthfeel. Nephilium (1807) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - JUL 28, 2007
This starts with a scent of yeast, wheat, and a touch of spice and citrus. It pours a cloudy light orange, with a big fluffy white head that settles down to a nice cap on the top of the beer. The standard slightly sweet wheat flavor comes through, with the just a touch of the standard clove, banana, and citrus notes. A nice tasting hefe, especially on a humid summer night. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 26, 2008
Nice pour, somewhat amber for a hefe, with a medium creamy white head. Really nice aroma for a wheat, can’t believe I can actually smell some hearty wheat malt, just the right amount of clove, lots of fruit and the banana is very faint. First taste is bitter and lots of alcohol followed by some spiciness, pepper and caramel ripe-banana. Yeasty / bubblegum finish. Lots of depth for a wheat. Balanced, but rather unique. Extremely smooth body and carbonation. This is a hearty wheat ale with a nice American twist. randy1301 (265) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 30, 2010
22oz bottle.Pours a cloudy yellow with a fizzy large white head.Nose is banana, orange lemon and yeast.Taste medium sweet with a creamy mouthfeel and a sweet finish. This is a really nice wheat and one of the best American interpretations of the style I’ve encountered.Hoppin’ Frog is killin’ it!! Bottle thanks to StFun! Hazy orange colored pour, very little carbonation and an aroma of bread and a little banana/spice. Flavor is slightly subdued creamy orange, sweet spices and a little caramel on the aftertaste. Very enjoyable, another solid offering from Hoppin Frog!

The flavor is is about what I expected. I get some nice banana and clove notes, as well as some wheat. In addition to all of that, I get some orange notes and a little bit of toasted malt. Nice to see a hefeweizen with a little more complexity than the standard offerings. Cliff (355) - The Land of Milk and Honey, Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2007
Bottle, poured a hazy golden color with a huge head. Big aromas of bananas, clove, fruits, a typical weissbeir, and thats a good thing. Excellent flavor, lots of esters that made this quite refreshing. As in the previous review, a great summer beer at an affordable price. Hoppin Frog has come on quite strong this past year and I have really enjoyed their beers. cewldre (268) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 28, 2007
This is new stuff from these guys. First had this as a sample at Riversbend, but this rating is coming from the bottle I grabbed. This one pours a golden color, hazy, with a slight orange hue. I smell a huge amount of banana flavor on this one. Real sweet smelling. Taste is smooth, easy going. That smell is exactly what the taste is too. Huge amount of banana. This would be great during a nice warm day while sitting by the pool, or after mowing the grass. Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - JUL 1, 2007
A decent pour of cloudy orange, large head, some fruitiness in the aroma, flavor of clove, banana, some citrus. I’ve drank many hefeweizen, and this is actually a very good example produced by an American brewer! well done! Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - JUL 10, 2007
Cloudy orangish yellow with a small head. Taste is oranges, vanilla and cloves. The bananas arive once the beer warms a bit. Both crisp and dry.
