COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Super-deep, rich flavors from long aging in select Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels beautifully complement the character of BORIS, our original imperial stout. Intense flavors and aromas of oak, toasted vanilla, butter, and fine tobacco from barrel aging 5 times longer, just like BORIS 200, lend an immensely satisfying depth to this deep roasted and full bodied stout.

Bomber. Black with barely any head. Aroma is roast, whiskey, barrel char. Tast is bourbon, roasty dark malt, rye, some smoke toward the end. Body was a bit thin for a big flavorful ba imperial, but makes sense with the below 10% abc. Very solid imperial stout, especially for a random shelf purchase.

Bottle from Green’s Beverages, Myrtle Beach SC. This pours opaque black into the glass, with a mild tan head that reduces to a tiny cap, leaving subtle lacing. The nose is of complex chocolates, light vanilla and woody bourbon casks. Intensely complex flavors abound, of mixed chocolates, including baker’s chocolate, semi-sweet nibs, milk chocolate drops, with pure vanilla bean intermingling with light phenols for complex, serious finish. A full-bodied mouthfeel ensues, embracing a chocolate lover’s dream, with all the substance and complexity that Hoppin’ Frog's BORIS is known for,,,, just taken to the palate's extreme. Such an incredible brew that can't get enough credit for being so satiating and delicious! Almost perfect for the style, and I'm having to search for parts that make it "almost". Superb!Absolutely divine!!!!!

Pours black with low deep tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Taste is deep bourbon sweet and roasty, almost too much... Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation.

From notes. Enjoyed at Doug’s house for the Whale Tasting and Poker Night, almost 18 months in planning. 22oz bottle. The pour is a darker black with a thick light khaki head and a couple spots of lace as it falls down to a thin ring. The aroma is pretty intense. There is a lot of bourbon and a strong oak up front with a lovely maltiness and a heavy chocolate. The coffee is a nice touch as it opens up, with a little bit of alcohol moving in. The flavor is much of the same. There is a solid bourbon and a strong oak to the chocolate and coffee with a bitter maltiness and a light vanilla that creeps in. The dark fruit isn’t terrible, but this is a little messy. It’s not as complex as I was hoping it would be. The mouth feel is a little light and watery with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly bitter coffee, chocolate, and malt finish. Not too shabby.

Bomber from a PUB’R visitor. Poured dark black with tan head. Nose was heavy bourbon, oak, vanilla, licorice. Tasted dense, with heavy dark malt, oak, bourbon, mild vanilla, and a dry, boozy finish. Delicious.
