COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5-Alarm Chili Beer: American Style is a uniquely balanced hot and spicy alarm-red ale made in collaboration with Siren Craft Brew in England!

We made the “English-style” at their brewery, and then came back to Hoppin’ Frog and brewed our “American-style” batch. We brewed ours with lots of chipotle and Morita peppers for a solid hot pepper taste, and just the right amounts of black pepper, cayenne, habanero, and Thai chili peppers to create complex, assertive, and satisfying flavors of a good bowl of 5-alarm chili!

Using an over-abundance of red caramelized malts to nicely balance out the spicy heat, this beer gives the chili and hot pepper lovers something to truly enjoy, and share with their like-minded fiery friends.

Tap at beertemple, amsterdam. Dark red color, small head. Aroma has some cherries, some blackberry notes. Paw! Massive chilis on taste, some cherry notes and some caramel. Second taste is much more pleasant, but still its chili bomb.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is chili overdose with some malt and further spicy notes struggling to get through. Flavour is sweet with massive chili burn in the throat. Medium bodied. I love chili in my beer when it is used to good effect, here it just overpowers everything else.

22oz bottle. Poured a clear, dark amber/copper color with no real head, just a quick soda fizzle. Aroma was light green pepper notes, heat, hot. LIght smoked meat. Flavor was... fire and burning. It was a little pleasant, mostly because I'm a masochist. There's a nice amount of heat here, with some chocolate and cinnamon character that comes through and isn't buried by the heat. I actually liked it a lot (for what it was), but it's been about an hour since I finished my last glass of it and my bottom lip feels like it's on fire. The sides of my mouth are numb. It feels like I put icy hot on my lips. I bet this might go well in something like chili, but it's a bit much even for chilie pepper heads.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of chili, black pepper, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of chili, chili, and more chili - way too much.

Sample from 65 cl bottle. Hazy, amber reddish colour with a thin white head. Spiced aroma with chillies, fruits and grasses. Taste is burning hot - waaaaay to hot. My palate is bloody ruined - bastards. Finishes with a hot burn that makes me sweat. Completely rubbish.

[email protected] - Amber to brown pour with off white head. Overt burning pepper with lots of spice, not very subtle at all, brining chilli, medium body, hot chilli finish, really not enjoyable.

Bottled 650ml.- from Beergium. Clear amber coloured, no head at all, theres chili whiff in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, chili, touch of cinnamon and peppers with pleasant chili finish and afterburn. For those who don't like chili avoid this but for hot pepper lovers this one is really nice. Hot stuff.
