Bomber pours copper with thin tan head. The aroma is a mix of earthy, spicy and roasty where the earthiness and maltiness create a mild oxidation like sensation. The taste is bitter hops forward with spicy hops, pine hop resin and tree sap. Around the edges of the hops are modest notes of roasted malts and faint earthiness. Tasty brew. has a bit of character. the hoppiness is rich but the malts are a bit astringent. the flavor is not quite the best. the mouth-feel is silky and soft nick76 (4404) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 20, 2011
The aroma is well balanced with a biscuit malt and a hay like hop. The appearance is hazy amber with a foamy head. The taste is like the aroma but a bit astringent. The palate is a smooth. Overall not a bad beer but it’s a bit too astringent. jtclockwork (17769) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2011
bottle shared by jcwattsrugger. Pours apple juice color. Very strong nose of nice fresh floral hop bouquet, grass, lavender, orange skin and yeast. Taste disappoints. Caramel malts, fresh hops with a dry resin pine finish. Average taste to go along with a strong nose. Rosebud butternuts (2398) - Denton, Texas, USA - JAN 7, 2011

Pours clear amber color with thin off white head. Piney hop aroma. Flavors of pine and grapefruit rind with lots of bitterness. A touch of sweet maltiness. Medium body with average carbonation. Better than I was expecting. csbosox (1229) - Prairie Village, Kansas, USA - DEC 29, 2010
22oz bottle, shared with my dad on the beach. Piney, resiny and dank aroma with tropical and to a lesser extent, citrus fruits. Orange and gold color, somewhat hazy. There is a touch of subtle light caramel at the beginning followed by a resiny, woodsy flavor and some tropical fruit high notes. Although there is some sweetness at first, a fair bitterness persists throughout and into the finish. This would not bode well as an amber ale in a bjcp comp, but I find it fairly enjoyable and would like to try the breweries other offerings. theOptimator (385) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 18, 2010
Aroma is malty dark caramel and citrus hops. Appearance is medium dark brown. Taste is citrus bitter and caramel. Earthy. Palate is medium. Lacks any depth. Hops dont come together with malt. No hops aroma, just bitterness. Decent drinkable beer, but boring. A decent homebrew. Strykzone (7848) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2010
Thanks Hayduke! A ten carat golden gusher of a head. It is long lasting and pillowy. A toasty well hopped aroma also has plenty of caramel. The flavor begins with tangerine and caramel. Tart citrus that is quite bitter is then tasted and the bitterness almost overwhelms. The bitterness settles somewhat and sour citrus fruit becomes the dominant flavor. Pretty good but too bitter. bu11zeye (13288) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2010
(22oz bottle, courtesy of ericandersnavy) Pours a clear copper body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of grass, caramel, and grapefruit. Flavor of grass, caramel, earth, and citrus with a dry, bitter finish.
