Our Alligator Ale is a rich mahogany colored ale with a surprisingly smooth finish. This beer is perfectly balanced with flavors of dark malts and hops.

The best of Hop's offerings but still not great! Nice color & taste. Really good with spicy foods.

Some chocolate and heavily roasted burnt malt...also a significantly smoky off aftertaste not advertised in the Brewers description. Not hateful, but not really good either.

Tap. Pours deep mahogany, large tan head, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, ashtray. Slacks is light plus sweet, medium plus bitter, burned malts, rubber, black licorice. Medium body, heavy lingering bitterness. Ummm.

This will go down in history as the best beer I?ve had tonight, at this brewpub. Almost three times as good as the worst beer I?ve had on tap at the Alexandria brewpub tonight. Some roast, light caramel and even a hint of dark chocolate. Pours dark brown with OK head and lacing.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 Flight 1/22/09 (Tampa)-Pours a ruby brown with a small head. Aroma of caramel, malt, toffee, and slight hops. Taste of the same with a bit of nut on the back end. This medium bodied brew was pretty well balanced and not bad.

About 4 oz. served into a tasting glass. From notes. A: Pours a dark brown color with a well-retaining khaki film. This one looks pretty good, even in such a dinky serving size. S: It’s got roasted malts...and that’s it. Pretty generic. T: Roastiness builds to an acidic, mildly watery finish. Meh. M: Like everything else I’ve had here, it’s light and easy to drink. O: This wasn’t very good. Maybe I let it get too warm? Wouldn’t get again.

Draft. Dark brown, headless. Aroma of subtle chocolate. Taste us watery chocolate.

Burnished copper brown pour with ruby highlights. Yellow tan head. Grass/husky nose, nice grain character and roast with notes of coffee and cacao. Light sweetness and well balanced. Enjoyed this one too.

Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark reddish brown color with a large creamy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and a bitter hop finish. The taste is chocolate, nuts, roasted malts and faint hops. Thin bodied, just like all their beers. The best of the 6 I tried, but that’s not saying much.

On tap in Matthews nc, bland, boring and slightly Off again, I don’t want to be cynical by this place really sucks. Wish they had a guest tap
