On draught at the brewery. Fairly clear, copper body with a finger thick, eggshellish, off-white head. Good toasty presence in the nose and lightly sweet caramel. Big malt flavor - brown ale-esque raisin notes, a little grape, and some more caramel. Mediumish body is malty with light bitterness. Fruity finish. Good beer, but I would prefer it if it were bitterer and the fruitiness were toned down a bit. ganache (5896) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 24, 2011
Draught in the pub. Dark copper gradient pour with a creamy white head. Nose has caramel and is lightly sweet. Taste is somewhere in between sweet and dry, no bitterness, clean and smooth with some cereal grains. Wait, there’s bitterness in the aftertaste and deep down in the throat, very light hint of apple juice. A decent enough beer, but not winning any Altbier competitions.

draft @ brewpub. Hazy opaque rugged brown with stable head. Not a forthcoming aroma. Has some nice fruity and bready malts with nice toasty bread. Soft and quaffable. Nice spiciness throughout. Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown with a full head. Aroma of mild hops. Flavour of dry hops with some bitterness to the finish. Long lingering palate.
