Sweet and malty aroma. Chestnut brown. Taste is very hoppy...no sweetness like the aroma hints. Sour hoppy finish...a little sticky. Not too bad, but really not the best beer for a hot day.

Pours deep amber with a quick-fading tan head. Lots of grain with a bit of fruit and caramel. Unusual without being gimicky. Ratman197 (15220) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Can poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of toffee, fruittiness, light earthiness and a hint of tobacco. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, earthiness and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish. TizzleJizzle (792) - Garland, Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Can. Poured a beautiful deep brown with a foamy tan top that lasted throughout. Dough, bread, grain, with a light hop finish. Medium carb, medium creamy body. Texas beers, FTW! bleeng (1682) - Seattle still not near Beersel., Washington, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Can. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is malty and a bit chocolate. Taste is the same with a smooth, rich body. A bit of graininess on the end. Nice well done beer.

Can from South Lamar. Light brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is toasted grain and light chocolate. Taste is lots of bread, chocolate, and a sweet molasses finish. changeup45 (1731) - Lake Mary, Florida, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Can from Errl. Deep amber-brown color with big fluffy off-white head. The scent has caramel, toasted grain, and nutty notes. Smooth; some dried mixed fruit flavor joins chocolate, roasted malty notes, lightly bitter earthy hops, and nuts. Seems bigger than it is. Pretty solid. Poured from a 12 ounce can thanks to Errl. Thanks for the Alt tick! Pours a cloudy brown color with a large, beige head of foam. Aroma has a nice, thick, malty nutty roasty note. Sweet. Taste has that roast nutty sweetness with a faint, dry bitter finish. Lighter on the palate. Good thirst quenching beer. It would be a nice summer porch beer. dlihcsnatas (767) - Temple, Texas, USA - MAR 5, 2013
Poured up a dark brown with a decent tan head. Smells and tastes of some caramel malts with some hints of chocolate. Decent brew but while the brewery is doing it’s part on recycling (since in Texas it is rare to find anyone that will take glass for recycle) not a fan of the can. Only good part about cans is once it is in a coozy it is hard to tell that I am drinking a brew in public. blutt59 (6576) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 28, 2013
canned, from Rich, dark walnut brown with frothy foam, aroma of raisin and nuts, roasty flavors of malt, pecans, bitter, earthy, nice finish, good alt
