hauxe (898) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2016
UPDATED: APR 14, 2017 Pours black with a dirty tan head that disappears mid-session. Strong roasted notes ladened with coffee greet the nose. Taste remains steady throughout with a rich, understated bitterness. Palate is thick and sticky. Mild carbonation. A very solid porter. Re-rating 04/17. Not as thick as I rembered. Carbonation moderate rather than mild, and a head more frothy than creamy. Overall rating unchanged.
