Draft at the source. Dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of burnt espresso, dark bitter cocoa. Taste is light vanilla, cocoa, dark roast coffee. Not much barrel evident, but pretty tasty. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee, hints of nuts and chocolate. An inky black pour with rapidly dissipating khaki head and no lacing. The taste is similar to the nose - roasted malts, coffee, notes of oak and chocolate. Full body with medium carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent porter! Put in a can, Hops and Grain! Put in a can! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - APR 30, 2013
On tap at Pinthouse Pizza. Pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate with not too much else going on. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of chocolate notes as well as some ash and roasted malt. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. angrypirate06 (1388) - Texas, USA - APR 28, 2013
Brown pour with a large foamy khaki head. Nose is smoky, earth, ash, campfire. Flavor is ash, smoke, BBQ, campfire. Really bot getting any barrel in this beer. Not my cup of tea. kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - DEC 3, 2012
Dark brown with an off white head. Very roasty aroma and flavor. Good bite and rich mineral and chalky mouthfeel but not dry. Very good.
