A golden hued, medium bodied, lager style beer, it is a refreshing alternative to a classic lager style beer. Finished with imported Saaz Hops, our Lightning Bold Gold promises a smooth finish.

Drake (14038) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Served on draft at the brewpub. A third consecutive pale lager. Yay. Pours a clear pale amber color with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of grain and caramel. The taste is toasted grain and grassy hops. Thin bodied.

On tap in Matthews nc, solid saaz flavor, tastes like a correctly made plisner from the Czech republic. Nice.

cubs (10675) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 28, 2011
On tap @ Hops Golden. A touch hazy, light yellow appearance with a white head. Pretty dull pale lager nose with not much hops. Bitter, grainy pale malty flavor. Better than their Clearwater but that does say crap.

Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2011
On tap at the Alexandria, Virginia location. Pours a bright, clear yellow color with minimal head and a few bubbles on top as the head settles down. The nose is quite grainy rather than malty with some husk and fairly-strong astringencies. The taste is more grain and maybe a faint hit of some herbal hops. Astringent grain husks rule in this kingdom, though. Off, harsh finish. Light body and pretty far bell average drinkability. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 12-20-2010

Draft at Hops Grillhouse & Brewery, Alexandria. Pretty similar to any given pale lager (BMC). Drinkable, but only by so much. Aroma inoffensive and almost non-existent, mild malt flavor, that’s about it.

Ratman197 (15109) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JAN 15, 2011
On tap at Hops Golden Colorado poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of white bread with a hint of spicy hops. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of white bread with light spicy hops and a smooth finish.

bubbleflubber (2231) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - FEB 20, 2010
Yellow pour with a non-retentive head and wash lace. Faint aromas, indistinct. Lightly bodied and thoroughly carbonated, grainy malts with a touch of corn to the tongue. Boring trend starting to form here.

potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 16, 2009
Tasting at All Colorado Beer Festival. Light yellow, no head. Aroma is lightly skunky, odd, and of light spiced bread. Flavor is light malts with some odd hop balance.

phukktifano (159) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 10, 2009
Gold. Aroma was floral, hopes and malt. Flavor was malt, vanilla and grain.

zebracakes (1339) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 22, 2009
Part of a sampler set at Hops in Charlotte, NC, 01.20.09. Clear gold, white head. Aroma is faint malt, hops, floral. Flavor is malty, grainy, and hoppy.
