Well this may be a bit of an upgrade for all the BMC swillers out there. A golden lager with a little more body and a touch of that sweetness Hops seems to love. I think they should rename thier restaurant "Malts" because none of thier beers actually contain any hops. Overall this is a clean lager better than most swill but offering no complexity whatsoever. In Gainesville FLA: Clear straw hue with small head and no lacing. Faint nose of grassy hops, lemon, toasted malts and butterscotch. Taste starts crsip and citrusy, malty sweetness follows with a light acidic finish, Thin-bodied, watery and fizzy. Rather boring, needs aggressive hopping to improve taste. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JUL 26, 2003
2002 Kennesaw, GA. Location - A very light bodied pilsner, that is not extremely watery like I thought it would be, some hops, some fruits, nicely balanced over all not a bad brew. changxao (104) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 12, 2003
Relative to the American Macro brews this is very good beer. Compared to other varieties it is average. Overall flavor and aroma were light but good, head was decent, some lacing. Better than the light. dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 9, 2003
Light to medium bodied pils with a noble hop bouquet and light fermentation issues.

Well, it is gold, but otherwise this doesn't have too many redeeming qualities. There is a fresh, raw graininess in the body with a light hop character. (Too bad they imported Saaz all the way to Florida just for this.) For a new world lager this is OK. (I overheard the bartender say that all their beers are ales, though. Hmmm....) fiulijn (20806) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2003
Pale yellow. Light aroma. Dry, citrus fruits flavor, hop, grass, stronger body than the Light (but the palate reveals a just too long infusion). Pjones6738 (500) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 25, 2003
I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed this beer. It was a nice smooth, easy drinking beer. Just enough hops to make it interesting. Nuffield (4180) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - DEC 31, 2002
Not much more color than their light beer. Decent aroma, suggesting fruitiness (grape, raspberry). First flavors are decent, but it descends into a slightly more murky set of flavors, artificial and unattractive. Feels like "big" bubbles of carbonation in your mouth. (at Eden Prairie, MN location) Crit (4024) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 16, 2002
Golden with thin light head.Faint floral hop nose.
Light but well balanced, with decent hops for the style
