2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First I got about 4 oz. served into a tasting glass...and I honestly liked this enough to order a 12 oz. mug of it. From notes.
A: Pours a clear golden color with a one-finger, white-shaded head.
S: What aroma? Honestly, I don’t smell anything - no malt, no cereal grain, no hops, no nothing.
T: Much better, actually. A touch of corn sweetness transitions into some lime notes and a mildly bitter, hard water finish. This is actually quite well done.
M: It’s light and a bit sweet. Like many Mexican-style lagers, it could be a little drier. It’s also well carbonated.
O: The aroma isn’t much cop (like, at all), but otherwise, it’s pretty solid - more Bohemia than Corona, thankfully. This would go great with chips and salsa.
Ever so slight improvement on the light and "bold." Crisper with a touch more flavor (than the light) without all the unpleasantness of the bold. emacgee (4676) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2012
Part of the sampler. Clean light yellow pour with a fizzy white head. Grainy and bready nose with a light sweetness and grassy wet/hay hop character. Light body with no bite whatsoever. Has that corn-y character to it that I’m not a fan of. Drake (13737) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a very thin white head. Decent head retention. Grainy malt aroma. The taste is grass and herbal notes, some citrus, though that may be from the lime on the glass, and pale malts. Thin bodied. hbmason (1086) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 19, 2012
On draft pour. Golden yellow color with a light white head. Not too sure about this one. Not as skunky as corona. Just not much going on. Light.
