On tap at the Newington, CT. brewpub. Clear brown with a thin tan head. Nose and flavor mirror - Sweet malt, light, sweet nuts and a light peaty smokiness. Not bad. UNCCTF (584) - Cary, North Carolina, USA - FEB 18, 2005
Charlotte, NC - University location. I can’t say I understand the low ratings on this one - I thought it was full, balanced, and had a very nice dry-hoppy finish. One of the better Hops brews I’ve had.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2005 On tap at the Bradenton location. Poured a dark brown color with a small off white head. Aromas of toffee and a little earthy. Light butterscotch and caramel in the tastes as well. badgerben (5181) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2005
Dark brown color with a medium head. Malty and smoke-riddled aroma. It has some of that good chocolate and smoke flavor, but then looses it when combined with the grain silo this tastes like. Not groovy. DYCSoccer17 (3698) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 21, 2005
Draft at Manchester, CT location. Metallic, caramelly/butter roasted malts in the nose. Transparent mahogany amber with a small off white head. Thin, mildly sweet and sugary start with roasted choco-maltiness to finish. Thin and below average. This beer does nothing to make itself stand out.
