Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a hazy bronze colour with a fading white head. Sweet, demerera and ripe fruit aroma with some leafy hop presence. Booze is pretty upfront in the flavour which is compensated for by the overall tasty nature; which whilst caramel malt heavy has enough hop character and fruit to make this a winner. Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’09. Bronze with white head. Sweetness and nasal alcohol predominate this big beer, there is a vanilla, custard cream biscuit flavour to the beer with a cidery alcohol banging in. Some oakwood notes, almost barrel like. Sturdy beer. fonefan (49427) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 15, 2009

Clear medium to dark orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, berry bitter, apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.
Cask, Leicester Fest 09. Hazy gold with a bubbly foam. Aromas are woody with tea and strawberry. Citrus and strawberry with alcohol. Flavours are caramel and toffee malts with woody, dry notes. Fruity with a peppery, dry finish. OK. Alphadelic (2237) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 7, 2009
Bright gold, good nicotine-stained head.
Vanilla and hops on the nose.
Sweet and oakey vanilla flavours abound.
Tingly and smooth textured.
Good and rich with a hoppy bite. DruncanVeasey (8226) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2009 Cask, Leicester 09. Bright tawny amber slicked with white. Heady apple, sultana and toffee aroma. Slick and smooth with a faint afterglow but no abrasive alcohol, some almond creeping in. Clean and dried fruity with underlying biscuit and discreet herbal noble presence. Good, but not as good as the Historic Porter. 737314.
(Bottle conditioned) Dusty orange with a fine white slick. Orange rind and Fruit Salad chew aroma with hints of honey, biscuit and ground coriander. Slick and fruity; marmalade, coriander, red apple, wheat and Fruit salad in the mix. Dusty with spice, yeast and citrus like Belgium. Not the same beer as the one I sampled at Leicester. 374715. cgarvieuk (24536) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 12, 2009

Tasted at the brewery (new cask) 23-01-09 and in bottle 25-01-09 The sample that I had at the brewery at 110 IBU’s courtesy of Nigel the brewer was a little more bitter than the bottle currently being consumed. Pours hazy light amber, aroma is lovely old leather and old oak wardrobe (I know that sounds strange but thats what I get) , touch musty but also with fruit and some alcohol. Initially sweet with banana and spices but the bitterness carries this along quite marvellously, lovely warmth from the alcohol, slight numbing across the tongue from the bitterness, sweet malts throughout, quite lovely. Many thanks to Nigel for the sample of this. A8 A3 F9 P4 OV17 4.1
