Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’09. Bronze with white head. Sweetness and nasal alcohol predominate this big beer, there is a vanilla, custard cream biscuit flavour to the beer with a cidery alcohol banging in. Some oakwood notes, almost barrel like. Sturdy beer. Stuu666 (14806) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 2, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours copper amber, nose is sweet toffee, yeasty, taste is bitter, toffee, light fruit. Fin (10908) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2009
Tasted at the brewery (new cask) 23-01-09 and in bottle 25-01-09 The sample that I had at the brewery at 110 IBU’s courtesy of Nigel the brewer was a little more bitter than the bottle currently being consumed. Pours hazy light amber, aroma is lovely old leather and old oak wardrobe (I know that sounds strange but thats what I get) , touch musty but also with fruit and some alcohol. Initially sweet with banana and spices but the bitterness carries this along quite marvellously, lovely warmth from the alcohol, slight numbing across the tongue from the bitterness, sweet malts throughout, quite lovely. Many thanks to Nigel for the sample of this. A8 A3 F9 P4 OV17 4.1 leaparsons (10764) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2009

Cask conditioned Gravity dispense Northants BF 2010. A golden coloured beer with a white ring of bubbles. An interesting sweetish aroma with booze and maybe a little honey. A long fruity taste. Opal fruits and marmalade. Very interesting and tasty. Would have preferred more bitterness and hoppy flavours but it is good. DruncanVeasey (8283) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2009 Cask, Leicester 09. Bright tawny amber slicked with white. Heady apple, sultana and toffee aroma. Slick and smooth with a faint afterglow but no abrasive alcohol, some almond creeping in. Clean and dried fruity with underlying biscuit and discreet herbal noble presence. Good, but not as good as the Historic Porter. 737314.
(Bottle conditioned) Dusty orange with a fine white slick. Orange rind and Fruit Salad chew aroma with hints of honey, biscuit and ground coriander. Slick and fruity; marmalade, coriander, red apple, wheat and Fruit salad in the mix. Dusty with spice, yeast and citrus like Belgium. Not the same beer as the one I sampled at Leicester. 374715. 500ml Bottle - Gold/light amber in colour. Hops, marmalade and peach in the aroma. Hoppy, slightly sweet and moderately bitter taste with notes of peach, apricot, grapefruit and toffee. The finish is bittersweet with more notes of apricot. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2008
A Mes rate: gravicask at Peterborough Beer Festival.
Lovely bright gold colour with a good white head. Big and fruity aroma with a fairly high but very enjoyable level of sweetness. Similar flavour but with an unexpected but really interesting hit of whisky. Sweet, candy sugar notes and some really good fruit in the finish. A typical English strong but a very good one.
