Bright gold, good nicotine-stained head.
Vanilla and hops on the nose.
Sweet and oakey vanilla flavours abound.
Tingly and smooth textured.
Good and rich with a hoppy bite. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2009
Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a hazy bronze colour with a fading white head. Sweet, demerera and ripe fruit aroma with some leafy hop presence. Booze is pretty upfront in the flavour which is compensated for by the overall tasty nature; which whilst caramel malt heavy has enough hop character and fruit to make this a winner. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2010
Cask conditioned Gravity dispense Northants BF 2010. A golden coloured beer with a white ring of bubbles. An interesting sweetish aroma with booze and maybe a little honey. A long fruity taste. Opal fruits and marmalade. Very interesting and tasty. Would have preferred more bitterness and hoppy flavours but it is good. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 26, 2015

Sweet and fruity, packed full of esters. Super drinkability, even though the malts are chewy and toffee-ey. Delicious bitter resins in the finish. Very complex - want more!
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2009 Cask, Leicester 09. Bright tawny amber slicked with white. Heady apple, sultana and toffee aroma. Slick and smooth with a faint afterglow but no abrasive alcohol, some almond creeping in. Clean and dried fruity with underlying biscuit and discreet herbal noble presence. Good, but not as good as the Historic Porter. 737314.
(Bottle conditioned) Dusty orange with a fine white slick. Orange rind and Fruit Salad chew aroma with hints of honey, biscuit and ground coriander. Slick and fruity; marmalade, coriander, red apple, wheat and Fruit salad in the mix. Dusty with spice, yeast and citrus like Belgium. Not the same beer as the one I sampled at Leicester. 374715.

Clear gold beer, tidy white head. Honey malt nose. Softish dry palate. Minerally soft malt, sweetish orange, trace of honey. Turns pretty creamy with a whisper of peach. Finishes soft and dry but with a trailing carbonated sting. Nice beer, needs to warm up from the fridge to get the best of it.
Bottle with Nick. Pours cloudy gold with a soft, white head. Aroma holds some doughy malts and juicy hops. Fairly sweet flavor, good bit of bread and cereal, some light grass, slight herbals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Warm finish, heavy malts, some faint pine, white sugar. Not bad. john44 (3101) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2017
