(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Oct 2017) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, burnt sugar, vanilla, liquorice and a generous roasty coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Really tasty and well made stout. Very nice.

1 finger creamy, tan head. Pitch black beer with some light bleeding through at the bottom.

Aroma is coffee, vanilla, roasted nuts, slight liquorice, slight bourbon and dark rye bread.

Taste is dark chocolate, milk, slight vanilla and espresso.

Mouthfeel is quite thin but with a very nice level of soft carbonation. Low bitterness. Smooth. No alcohol in taste whatsoever.

Overall: Great aroma but weak taste. Like stated before, no alcohol is present in the taste which is impressive but at the same time, I don't understand how a 9% Impy can be so weak in taste. Definitely leans against being a Porter but a good brew nevertheless!

Turtles (3164) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2017
330ml bottle from Systembolaget. Pours black with a creamy beige/brown head, some lacing. Rich nose of coffee, milk chocolate, pumpernickel, licorice, vanilla and cocoa nibs. Medium bodied, silky mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Chocolate malty taste with a rounded roast, cocoa bitterness, sweet vanilla, dark rye bread hints of lactose sweetness. Dry finish with a pleasant bitterness.

Beautiful dark brown, small frothy head. Chocolatey aroma, maybe a bit of vanilla. Slightly sweet taste, quite balanced though. Feels a bit lighter than you'd expect, easy to drink but doesn't feel like a heavy IS. Overall a fine showing.

@ Stordirren 17-11-05: Lite enkel med tydlig smak av lakrits och en ganska tunn kropp
