Poured a clear reddish browqn with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of cocoa, toffee, light smoke and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 May the Shwarzbier with you. I kid, I kid... Tap @ Fifteenth Ave. Hophouse... Poured dark, near black with light amber/brownish highlights and a khaki head. This one was interesting. Palate was thick, a bit full bodied. A little buttery with toasted caramel and malt. Some sweet malt, a him of roast, cocoa powder, milk chocolate. Not as clean and crisp. Draught. Black with medium beige head. Lagery, malt and hops aroma. Flavour was rather like a Kulmbacher Monchshof. Malty with roasty notes. Hop finish.
