COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep like the Baltic Sea and as massive as the Swedish ship Kronan sunk in its icy waters, our Baltic Porter greets you with a frothy tan head and rich malty aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and toasted marshmallow. As its garnet color mesmerizes, the rich flavors engulf the senses. Made with bottom fermenting lager yeast, Kronan the Barbarian is as rich and strong as an Austrian actor but with more depth.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver
The color is almost black, with small to no head. It bases aroma and flavor on some dark and mellow caramel, a bit of dark chocolate, but it suffers for lack of better malt depth; the bitterness is low, the final gets a bit cloying, and the alcohol perception is quite high.
Nothing exciting, but still a good beer.

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Tap at Bakushu Club Popeye, Tokyo. Dark reddish brown shade. Ring of tan head. Taste and aroma are much the same. Cherry cola, red grape, some smokiness. Touch of BBQ meatiness at first too. Plenty going on to make this worthwhile.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a black a deep dark mahogany / brown with a small tan head. Nose is heavy on the dark fruits, vanilla and slight cocoa. Flavour is on the sweet side, with lots of dark fruits and caramel. A little too sweet for me, but it’s quite well-balanced. Good.

Roasted chocolate with burnt caramel notes. Deep mahagony with small head. Boozy, caramelly flavor with high alcohol heat on the finish. Thin body and a slickness. Very boozy porter; tastes as those a fair amount of bourbon was added.
