Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses, brown sugar, alcohol and hint of licorice. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm roasted, chocolate, licorice and coffee. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft

On the nitro tap at the brewery. Pours a deep brown with a thin tan head. Roast and cocoa on the nose, chocolate and a bit of roast. Medium bodied, sweet and roasty, thins a touch, but not before dropping a bomb of cocoa syrup with sweetness and chocolate. Huge, hidden but huge. Cocoa. Wasn’t looking at ABV before ordering, but was not expecting this. Just a big sweet mess of a beer, cocoa, roast, long chocolate into the finish. Tough drinking.

Poured from a growler a motor oil black. Nose is licorice and roasted malt. Taste is similar with a touch of dates, raisins and vanilla. Lovely mouthfeel that coats the tongue in a pleasant way. Overall a really good imperial stout.
