I found this to be an extremely watery, bland, stout, with little or no aroma. The phrase "hello... Taste? " springs to mind when drinking this. Definately will not be buying this one again!
Not ALL of the beers I enjoyed from Hopworks were hopped to hell and back. Survival Stout was easily my favorite non-hoppy beer from Hopworks. Hell, it even beat out some of the hoppy ones. This brew pours dark brown. As you'd expect for something brewed with 15 pounds of Stumptown espresso and 7 different grains, the aromatics are roasty and grainy with hints of char. Flavor has bitter, earthy espresso and more subtle notes bittersweet chocolate and nuttiness. This beer's 7 grains get top billing on the bottle, but liking coffee is truly a must for enjoying this Stout. Oakes (18828) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 26, 2017
Draught @ Venti’s Basement Bar, Salem. Dark brown with a bubbly head. A lot of coffee on the nose, complex malts. Bitter chocolate, nice malts, a lot of coffee...sort of a burnt central american.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Roasted malts, brewed coffee, rye spiciness, a bit of cherry bitterness, smooth chocolate, light cinnamon and earthy spices, cocoa nibs. Pretty well crafted stout, delicious for its ABV. Smooth texture, roasty chocolatey notes throughout. stantheman (1098) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 10, 2017
On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A black beer with a bit of tan head and a faint roasted malt nose. Okay, here we go. Smooth, creamy. Lots of roasted malt, maybe slightly burnt. A bit sweet and somewhat bitter roasting of the malts. No hop detected here. Mouth feel is a bit thin. Roasted malt aftertaste. 3.8 tricksta_p (5136) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2017

473ml can. (5.8% ABV) Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces nicely. Aroma of espresso, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel and a hint of vanilla with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Tasty but could use more body. RW80 (2747) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2017

Very Tasty, but a bit thin, a slight thicker texture would be doing the beer more justice. kermis (14553) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 6, 2017
