COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Brown head, jet black beer. Smells of leather jerky smoke a bit, some chocolate moose hops & spice. Heavy bodied. Some smoky taste with a chocolate moose taste, some warmth a bit and some spice. Interesting & strange. One of the better smoked stouts from Denmark I have had. Cheers.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours deep dark black with a dark brown head. Aroma of smoke and molasses. Taste of molasses, dark fruits, smoke, oats, and licorice. Full-bodied. Pretty darn tasty.

neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2013
500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours black with a medium tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has notes of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts and molasses, along with a touch of smoke and just a hint of peat. The flavour is fairly sweet throughout, with loads of roasted malts, espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla, along with peat, subtle smoke, earth and a touch of grassy hops. The finish is long, roasty and subtly peaty. On the palate it is full in body with a smooth, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a great imperial stout with just the right amount of peated malts. It is robust, yet complex with a very nice malt profile. 2013-12-20

Milk chocolate, roasted notes, sweet malt. Smells beautiful, classic aromas for a good imperial stout. This is a beautiful beer, thick black pour with long lasting brown head. Solid flavor profile, upfront some milk chocolate and burnt flavors, finishes with a leafy bitterness and dark chocolate. As it warms strong smoke comes through in the aroma and flavor. Very well balanced, nothing overly complex or interesting here but very very well made. Thick bodied and average carbonation.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a near black dark brown with small light brown head. Aroma is quite smoky with definite peat presence, roasty coffee and dark chocolate and a little anise. Flavour is full of smoked peat too - really more than Id choose - roasty mocha notes and hints of black licorice. Medium-full body. Solid.

Kolsvart och trgflytande som olja :) Medium stort brunt skum och lite kolsyra! Doftar kaffe och malt samt lite choklad! Samma i smaken! Bra imperial stout!

Pours a motor oil black with a nice thick brown cap. The aroma presents all the aromas of a real good proper cup of dark roast coffee, some nuttiness, dark chocolate, clean campfire, caramel malts, smoke, salt and peat make me think single malt islay. The flavour is spot on with everything the aroma promises, with sweet notes of alcohol and toffee balancing out the slightly bitter coffee notes. Milk chocolate, and coffee trail into the finish. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Exceptionaly well crafted.

Really comes together well. Roastiness and smoke, with dark chocolate, light hint of caramelized malt and nut. Booze well-disguised. Smoked peat malt is super prominent - if anything a touch too much, but this is just imperfection. Pours black with thick mocha head and carpet lacing. Soft carbonation. Medium bitter, smokey and dark chocolate finish. Trying to get a sense of the birch smoked part the bottle mentions - Im sure its something subtle in there. Wonderful. Bottle from licbo.

(bottle) clear very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aromas of fruit, cognac; creamy palate; rich and sweet flavour with a long medium bitter finish, excellent

Dark pour with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Roasted malt with coffee and some smokey nuts; a slight bitter aftertaste. A good stout.
