On tap. Pours a cloudy opaque dark brown with a dense light brown head with good retention. Roast and citrusy hops in the nose - as expected. Full-bodied with some hard roasted malt, sweet vanilla and licorice, fruit and a little ashes. Has an edge of yeast and phenols. Craft Islington. Keg. Clear deep red - brown beer. Little pale cream coloured head. Smooth and softish palate. Fine carbonation. Smooth and slightly sweet dark malt cream, luxuriant. A little dark chocolate but no roast or bitterness. Touch of red berry fruits. Smooth piney hops underpinned by light citrus and tropical fruits. Finishes soft and creamy with all flavours coming together. A sumptuous treat of a double black ipa.
Bottle at home ... deep brown ... thin tan head ... big sweet pine american hop nose ... huge nose ... light toffee malt ... big sweet juicy pine ... big pine hop bitterness ... think this is going to go down very welll ... its really quite lovely ... quite oily and spicy ... even a little firy spicyness from the hops ... Real nice.
