(on tap) Aroma:huge anise and liquorice notes- smells like liquorice candies :) Appearance:black color,medium-sized dense beige head. Taste:sweet, flavour of liquorice candy, anise, milk chocolate,maple-like finish, roasty aftertaste. Palate:full body, low to medium carbonation, thick texture. Overall:OK its one-dimensional buuuut if you like liquorice just like me you can easily ignore this fact and fully enjoy the beer :).

500 ml well aged bottle. Pitch black body with a small, dense beige head. Strong and very nice aroma of smooth dark malt, dark chocolate, dry fruit, vanilla, hint of Christmas spices. Flavor is very smooth, gently roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, dry fruit, vanilla and spices like ginger and other Christmas spices. Well balanced, fine body and long lasting pleasant aftertaste. A solid and very smooth beer that storage probably has been a good thing considering the spicy flavor is still quite strong. Solid.

Aroma is anise, then more anise with some anise behind, beside tones of anise there is some licorice and a bit of cocoa/dark chocolate. Pours dark-brown/black, light brown head, quite big, lasts for a long while. Taste is also mostly anise, besides that some dark chocolate in the ending, some spices, but after hit of anise its all hidden. Medium body, soft carbonation, a bit of alcohol. I like anise - but not in such a huge amount, its nearly difficult to drink the whole bottle of this one. Seems it has some potential hidden behind the main spice tho.

0.5 bottle.
Jet black in color with a tanned head of good retention. Aroma of gingerbread, marzipan, caramel, alcohol, Christmas spices, and candy - taste is exactly the same. A full body and a thick texture, carbonation is soft. Long, Christmas candy finish. Overall the beer is good, kudos for taste and aroma complexity.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with huge foamy light brown head. Aroma is intense vanilla and fudge but also coffee, mint, licorice, prunes and cookies. Taste is very sweet, light bitter and light acidic. Body is milky with soft carbonation. Finish is long, sweet and intense with notes of vanilla, cream, butter, cookies, fudge, milk chocolate and prunes. Very intense and sweet and well balanced.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, spicy, anis seed, tart notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, spicy, anis seed, chocolate, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160319]

Aroma: Sweet dry fruits with raisins and prunes and port like notes. Flavour: Roasted malt and dark sweet berries with spices. Aftertaste is roasted malt and fruity bitter. Colour: Very dark reddish brown with a tan head. From: Bottle @ Voldby Kbmandsgrd Nov. 2016.

mateuszk (2670) - Poznań, POLAND - DEC 7, 2016
Bottle. Pours brown, light head. The flavour is overpowered by anise, there are really lots of it, besides that some licorice, chocolate. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweetish and spicy finish. Definitely for those who like anise in huge amounts.

DraftDodger (1454) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 5, 2016
Copenhagen 5/12 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny. The Danish King Christian the Fourth on the label - apparently a big fan of Christmas Mumme. Pours opaque dark brown with beige head. Settles as thin fine layer of foam. No lacing. Aroma is intensely sweet. Fermented sweet berries, leather and alcohol. Reminds me of a Dessert Wine. Something tart lurking in the background. Soft carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavor is heavy sweet with medium bitterness. Bitter licorice in the aftertaste. You cannot accuse this beer of being without taste. Very Heavy and very Sweet - but also quite good Mumme.
