Outstanding fruit beer! The colour is dark red, head is beige. The cranberry is very present here, there’s sweetness as well, but the sourness is a bit more pronounced. ([email protected])

Bottle - 500ml. Nice cloudy brown body with a thick beige foamy head. Strong, sharp, well balanced hoppy aroma with cranberries and malty hints. Its malty/hoppy taste carries cranberries, plummy notes and ends with a good sour finish. Enjoyable.

Not very pretty, that cranberry bastard is of a murky brown tint, loaded with sediments and fizzy in nature, constantly nourishing the tall beige head that tops it. Surprising oak character in the nose is spicy, highly toasty and somehow smokey and leathery even. The cranberry aroma is there, adding a refreshing tang to an otherwise unrefined, kinda messy, all over the place ensemble, especially with the spicy phenols from the presumably Belgian yeast strain used. While it contains a fair bit of residual sugars, they are balanced out by the sharp, acidic big-bubbled carbonation and the fruit’s acidity. Despite the oak aging, little tannins blend in, leaving the dusty finish focusing on the fruit, hinting at cranberries, but also tartish, earthy apples with a dose of saltiness. Obviously, the oak and cranberry mix procures very unusual flavours. A very original creature that I had pleasure discovering, but not one I’d want to dig in too frequently.

Bottle: Poured a dark cloudy reddish color ale with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light sweet cranberry is quite dominant with lightly sweet undertones. Taste is a refreshing mix of cranberry with just the right amount of sweetness and light tart notes. Malt backbone if pretty solid though doesn’t play a huge role. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Interesting fruit beer with good drinkability factor while retaining some drinkability.

Hazy reddish amber of color with foamy white head. An aroma of dust, fruit, clay and gorgonzola. A flavor of cheese, gorgonzola, fruit and dust.

(Courtesy of rodenbach99) Murky reddish brown beer with a thin head. Sourish cranberry juice with strange malted cereals for the nasal vestibule. Taste is slightly tart with minimal sweetness. Maybe some oak and weird things. There’s something fishy about all this. Body is nearly medium with moderate carbonation. Finale is quite a let down : short and bland. Overall, not so good.

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 9, 2011
0.5L bottle, brought home from Lønnebjerg, Vig, Sjælland. A brief orangey-shaded blond head, resting on a cloudy deep red colored body. Prominent berry aroma. Sweet-scented, kind of mellowed cranberries. Some ashy notes, and a strange whiff of medicine-like phenoles. Taste is acidic-sweet berry-fruity. Not genuin berry-ish, but juicy with tones of acidic acids. Less than medium full. Slick texture. Sugar-sweet and tart fruity ending. A strange brew, with some off-notes.
