500 ml bottle courtesy of Jacob. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a small khaki head that has good retention. The aroma features smokehouse meats and an impression of of smoldering embers. The taste features more smoked goodness and begs comparison to the Schlenkerla brews. The palate is on the lighter side, but effective, and the carbonation is soft. Finishes long and dry with lingering smoke and ash. Overall: This is a great smoked beer.

Copenhagen 27/10 2016. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Smoky locomotive on the label with a warning on the back: "This beer is not for everybody". Pours hazy mahogany with big off-white head. Head disappears fairly fast upon pouring. Reminds me of champagne with the explosive but unstable foam. Aroma of peat, sweet caramel, salami and salted meat. Strong carbonation and surprisingly thin palate. Flavor is quite sweet with only light bitterness. I really like the smell - but I was disappointed by the flavor and palate which I found very thin and conventional. But I had quite high expectations.

Light, rich and persistent foam. The aroma is limited to a bit malt and in the taste, it has a slightly fruity taste in addition to a sustained hop bitterness. If i’m tasting deeply, I can taste a little bit of smoke, but it is far from what I expects from a smoked beer.

[email protected] Brown clear. Tarry smokey nose. Jerkey, bbq sauce, herby liquor. Med bodied, bitter dryish finish. Dark sweet syrupy malty bready, some smoke, chocolate. And that tight yeasty roundness of a leger beer. Has some good qualitites, but overall not my thing. Getting a lot more of that herb liquor now, which is a good thing.

Tap@ Ølhus København. Mahogany color, thin off white head. Really smoky aroma, bacon, tar candy. Flavor has caramel, tar, mint and bready malt. Interesting enough, but feels artificial somehow.

50cl bottle. Pours dark cola brown with an eruption of foam that disappears immediately. Final result looks like a pint of coke. Aroma is smoked meat and almost no else. Taste is light roastiness, some coffee, smoked meat. Too light and thin, excessive carbonation. First one I don’t like from Hornbeer. Maybe a bad bottle.

Bottle thanks to LukasMH. Pours a reddish amber with a medium sized, off white head. Aroma has rusty nails, smoke, leather, pale and caramel malts. A bit of red apples. Taste is pretty watery, malty, slight smoke, pretty sweet, but over all weak. Not as bad as the aroma. Smooth body and avg. carbonation. Oh well..
