COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
70 pct kakao. Men Hornbeer Russian Imperial Stout går altså også fint alene!

Pitch black pour with a thick brown head. Aroma of heavily roasted malt with chocolate. Flavor of roasted, almost smoky malt with chocolate and a bitter finish. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer, but it’s definitely my least appreciated from Hornbeer’s many imperial stouts. It just lacks some personality.

DraftDodger (1796) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2017
Copenhagen 30/11 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Angry looking bull on the label in very weird colors. Pours very dark opaque brown with small light beige head. Settles as small patch of foam. No lacing. Aroma is strong and roasted. Toffee with bitter coffee hints, chocolate butter, dark roasted malts. Soft lightly prickly carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavor is strongly sweet followed by light bitter notes. Aftertaste is bittersweet. This might be an dessert - but it is of the good, heavy sweet and slightly boozy variant.

(Bottle) Black colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, cacao, roasted chestnuts, dark chocolate, liquorice, some tar and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, liquorice, black rye bread, hints of soy sauce, burnt sugar and a balanced roasty cacao bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made imperial stout. Very nice.

NORSAND (123) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2017
(1.5 year old) Very dark brown with lasting dark beige head. Nose: Dark, sweet malt and pine trees. Malt sirup, medium roasted coffee beans, molasses, raw cocoa and quite a lot of pine hoppiness. The arrival is sweet, followed by a rich, slightly oily viscosity and generous carbonation. There’s dark chocolate, coffe (mocca) beans and roasted malt on the mid palate, before a pleasant hoppy bitterness appears in the finish. The aftertaste is rather long. Very nice beer!

el drinko. smellz o dark choko milky, floral things, nut, pinch of coffee grinds, slight ash, penguins. flavos are pretty good - hard chokko, well worked in bitterness dat is not in the way, grinds, acidic, tons of malt. Needs to bee drank slow or the bitterness, acidic penguins pile up and recks things. its lost somewhere between pretty good and really good. Acid. Acid was fantastic when I was younger but not so much now.

Bottle thanks to Pentaz who forgot this in my fridge. Black with a small light brown head with ok lace and regeneration. Coffee, roasted malt, chalk and light flowers in the nose. Simple flavour with wood, dust, light charcoal, chalk, light dark roasted malt. Medium, body, soft texture, not much sweetness, medium bitter, very light acidity. Dry roasted finish. Hmm.

koshack (2017) - Gdañsk, POLAND - MAR 17, 2017
Czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana brązowa, drobna, pojawiają się większe pęcherze. Aromat bardzo dobry. Gorzka czekolada, trochę kawy. Bardzo delikatna kwaskowość. Jest też delikatna nuta palona, kojarząca się ze stoutem. W smaku gorzka, zimna kawa. Jest tez sporo czekolady, nuty kakao. Lekka paloność w posmaku. Dość gładkie w odczuciu. Alkohol dobrze zamaskowany. Bardzo przyjemny RIS.

Nische (2661) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 13, 2017
Bottle from Systembolaget. Black with a medium brown head. Chocolate aroma, with some roasted coffee and some chalk. Light sweet, light bitter with a long soft chocolate finish. A light tingle of acidic berries that puts me off. Decent.
