Opaque black beer, tidy tan head. Odd fruity and medicinal nose. Palate is smooth, a little soft and semi dry. Taste follows the nose - medicinal fruit! Smooth smoky dark malt. Mild coffee and aniseed before the dry finish. The fruit gets a little sweeter before the finish. Different!
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of saxo. Pours pitch black with a thick and creamy light brown head leaving some nice lacework. Hard roast nose, some dark dried fruits. Medium body - actually feels a little thin considering the ABV. Carbonation is pretty low. Sweet roast, vanilla and yes perhaps a litle honey too. Don’t pick up any walnuts though. Gets somewhat ashy towards the finish. Roasty finish with a little alcohol showing. 160411
