Bottle. Opaque black brown beer with a beige head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, dried fruit, chili, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Flavor is spicy with notes of caramel, chili, licorice, dried fruit, chocolate and spices. Ok, a bit to much spice aroma. magicmn (170) - Moscow, RUSSIA - JAN 10, 2015
Spicy aroma with lot of anise. Taste reallly weird - start is dominated by anise and other spiсies then you can feel chocolate and after all there is stron enough chili aftertaste. Interesting for a beergeek. Metalchopz (3364) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 9, 2015
Pours a black-brown colour with hardly any highlights. Creamy, bubbly head, mocha-coloured, long lasting and thick foamy lacing. Big cocoa and chocolate nose. The taste is not as chocolaty, but with roasted malts, licorice, grass and the chili powder showing in the finish. Kind of messy balance at first, but with some breathing, chocolate come out to help the flavours. The is notes of rustiness that kill the rest. The mouthfeel is pretty smooth and this goes down very nicely for 10% ABV. Wish the taste was better balanced. The best before date is in 2023, so maybe the other bottles I have might get better with time. RumRunner101 (918) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 1, 2015
Thick, jet black pour with light brown pour. Aroma of burnt malts, black coffee, molasses, licorice. Molasses, licorice, burnt bread, coffee, rum. Lingering pepper heat. Too boozy and spicy. Whoa. teddybeer (3735) - Madrid, SPAIN - DEC 28, 2014
Black color with a quickly dissapearing tan head, medium lacing. Aroma has strong black chocolate notes, some roasted and licorice. Flavor has coffee beans and black chocolate traces, high presence of licorice. The final is roasty with chocolate and light chili hints in the mouthfeel.

Written rating from Copenhagen Beerfest.
Pours a dark oily brown with a dense layer of tan head. The aroma is awesome with heavy malts, licorice, dark chocolate and espresso beans. The first sip is offputting with vanilla and licorice and a odd metallic taste. A bit sweet with chocolate and a dessert like flavour. The finish is hot with mild chili flavours, alcohol presence and a smoky flavour. Overall, interesting but not great. MalpaBezAmbicji (17) - - DEC 19, 2014
Black beer with a nice dark foam. It smells like a monte/chocolate/kinder liquor with some dark muddy, marsh flora and thick smoke of a cigar. The taste is challenging, as itís so rich and striking. First impression is some dark dark chocolate filled with depression, than it morphes into swamp herbs to explode in your throat with a burning anise and chili. Itís very hard to drink a whole bottle though. Still, very mesmerising and demonic beer. hackobock (4007) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 26, 2014
