Copenhagen 17/2 2016. 50 cl bottle from Eternellen. Strange drawing of daschhound with water splashing out of it's mouth. I suppose it is fighting the burning chili. Impressive with a beer that declares a durability of almost 10 years. Pours opaque dark brown with dark beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma of dark roasted malts, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee. Not as sweet as it sounds. Soft carbonation and thick oily palate. Flavour is very sweet but nicely balanced by medium bitterness and lingering chili burn. Chocolate, vanilla and brown sugar. Coffee bitterness and a nice touch of chili afterburn. Fine dark stout with a twist.

Not sure ive ever drank a beer quite like this one. Dark brown, verging on black, with a bubbly, very dark mocha coloured head. The aromas are an interesting blend of cocoa, and chili peppers. You can literally picture your nose up against a shiny pepper as you inhale. Tastes start off dark chocolate, but quickly give way to spicy peppers by mid-tongue and definitely on the swallow. A real winter warmer, between the spiciness and big abv.

Pitch black pour with a brownish head. Vanilla, peppers and chili aroma mix with chocolate and roasty notes. Well balanced brew with vanilla, bitterness and some heat on the finish. Good length. tasty stuff.

Bootle Pitch black colour with a small tan head. Aroma of belgian pralines, strong cofee with notes of chili. The beer is dry, with a solid bitterness that makes it feel bitter cocoa, chocolate. The presence of chili in the form of light sharpness and heating in the throat. But at all its perfectly balanced, really pleasant one.

Black body, brown head. Aroma is instant coffee, dessert chocolate, maybe a faint hint of vanilla if you know its supposed to be there. Fairly average stout aroma. Taste is medium bitter, roasty, malty, while a chili spicness (or rather burn) lingers. Creamy texture, heavy body.

A bit too much laqurice. Almost black coloured with a light-brown head, diminishing. Heavy laqurice aroma, medicine, sweet.

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, lots of creamy chocolate, roast, surprisingly strong dark fruits, jam, pleasant chili peppers, vanilla, some coffee, hint of liquorice. Flavour is about medium sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Leaves a little chili burn in the throat. Lovely and complex Imperial Chili Stout.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours a thick, opaque, black body with very low carbonation and a thick, fading brown foamy head. Strong, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with cocoa, roasty, plummy, and peppery hints. Alcool is subtle. Its rich malty/hoppy taste carries strong licorice notes. Ends with a warming peppery finish. Interesting, but a bit weird.

Countbeer (6554) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 9, 2016
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Brown head. Black beer. Aroma of roast, hops, ash, herb, coffee, tobacco, hint of pepper, some bay leaf, chocolate and dust. Flavour is roast, mocha, malt roast, chocolate, pepper taste, dust, meat, bay leaf, tobacco, sweet tar, thick, ash, light smoke, toffee, light caramel, white pepper, etc etc. Darkn tasty! Aftertaste is malt roast, bitters, some chocolate, light coffee, hint of mocha and bay leaf. Low carbo, oily mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Beautiful complex beer. Thick and rich! Yet quite easy drinkable.
