Really poor whiskey aromas, nothing special at all. I should rate it as classical dunkel hefeweizen, and in this category this beer is only average. Beware on huge carbonation, especially during opening. I feel disappointed.

bepaald niet mijn ding. Weet niet of de achterliggende gedachte uit de verf is gekomen. bonuspunten voor proberen.

0.5 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before March 2018. Hazy, dark brownish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky and a bit yeasty-spicy aroma of smoked ham, some peat, caramel, banana and a touch of clove. Quite sweet, malty, moderately smoky and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, smoked ham, nuts, overripe banana, some clove and hints of peat, followed by a medium long, rather smoky, moderately yeasty-spicy and slightly bitter finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, the smoke works well in here, expected a bit more peat but it’s rather balanced instead.

Bottle. Looks like normal weizen. The bottle was unfortunately close to expiration date. Average weizen, peated smokiness was very little, nothing like Rittmayer. Would love to try fresh.

Trübes dunkles gelb, schöner schaum, Hefe würzig im geruch, ausgewogener Geschmack vordergründig Hefe mit einem leicht rauchig würzigen Beigeschmack, recht süffig

0,5l Flasche. Hellbraunes trübes Bier mit hellem Schaum. In der Nase Rauch und Hefe. Säuerlicher Antrunk, dann kommt der Rauch. Der Weissbier Charakter ist erhalten, der Whiskey nur zu erahnen.

bottle at home courtesy of mctaps, cheers sabine!
murky dark amber with a trace of beige head. lightly smokey vanillins and toffee on nose. full body and carbonation, sweet banana esters with spicey clove in behind and a gentle caress of peat, quite sharp esters, moderate meaty smoke...more rauchweisse than whiskyweisse

mysland (133) - GERMANY - OCT 16, 2015
Flasche, 0.5l. Leichter Duft nach Schinken. Auch im Geschmack eher Schinken, als Whiskey. Aber nur sehr wenig. Kein typische Weißbier-Hefe im Geschmack.
