Bottle. Murky brown with a thin foam. Aromas are caramel and rye with banana and yeast. Copper coins with lemon and light earthy whisky. Flavours are sweet caramel with bready yeast and thin lemon. Smoky and earthy with light whisky. Quite bloating. It’s OK.

Pours orange from the bottle. Frothy to foamy head with moderate retention. Aroma is banana and smoked ham. Taste is bittersweet, a touch watery on the swill. A bit tart in the finish. Moderate to above average carbonation. Did not get a sense of the whiskey malt. Not bad.

Aus der Flasche im 2017-08 getrunken. Mit Whiskey Malt aus Schottland? Aha wirklich spannend!

0.5 l bottle from ’P&M Getränke’, best before March 2018. Hazy, dark brownish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky and a bit yeasty-spicy aroma of smoked ham, some peat, caramel, banana and a touch of clove. Quite sweet, malty, moderately smoky and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, smoked ham, nuts, overripe banana, some clove and hints of peat, followed by a medium long, rather smoky, moderately yeasty-spicy and slightly bitter finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, the smoke works well in here, expected a bit more peat but it’s rather balanced instead.

Bottle. Looks like normal weizen. The bottle was unfortunately close to expiration date. Average weizen, peated smokiness was very little, nothing like Rittmayer. Would love to try fresh.
