This was their Das Echtte Dunkel variation in the swing-top ceramic stoppered bottle. There are some peculiar notes here that other reviewers don’t seem to have picked up on. Namely, wild mushrooms and vanilla. There’s also a hint of smoked bubblegum and lace curtains. I could imagine this being successfully paired with a mushroom pasta dish, but on it’s own, very few people will really appreciate this one.

500ml flip-top bottle as "Adler König Das Echte Dunkel" (thanks FatPhil). Clear chestnut color. Sweet, mild grassy hops, caramel in aroma. Caramel, mild hops, malty and toast in taste. I like the grassy hops and mild malts in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Quite drinkable.

adamnase (681) - Kronoby, FINLAND - NOV 6, 2015
Bottle as "Adler könig das echte dunkel". Aroma has raisins and malts. Flavor is malty and quite watery. Aftertaste has lager fermentation flavor. Also somewhat weirdly stingy mouthfeel, drinkable but a bit watery...

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötlich-braunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, würzig, trocken.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014 0.5L tall dark swing-top (patent cap) bottle. Blue label; "Adler König Das Echte Dunkel". Beige good head, diminishes on a see-through brown body. Scents of hops, malts, grass, fruits. Taste: Grains, mild malts, hops, butter. Alright to palate, slightly watery. Ends half dry with light roasted malts, slice of bread, dried berry. Overall mediocre. Not bad.
