50 cL bottle. Pours golden and dark brown with a white lacing head. Light spiced and mild alcohol aroma. Flavour is sweet and solid malty with a alcohol smoothness. Clear alcohol flavour into the finish and a light warming feel alongside a light spice note.

A caramel brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and hints of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alcohol, and an dry hoppy end. An OK beer but nothing special.

oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 21, 2009
Bottled. Very deep rubyish brown colour, small beige head. Aroma is caramel, wood, some mild herbal notes as well as bready and quite biscuity notes as well. Flavour is caramel, some fruits, wood and mild alcoholic notes. Too sweet in the flavour to be really enjoyed. Otherwise rather nice.

3.3
omhper (25119) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 30, 2002
Nut brown. Sweet with above average body, toffee aroma, chewy malt. A good doppelbock, but less malty and complex than the prime examples of the style.

3.3
Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Sweetish, malty caramelish nose. Very solid and potent body with lots of caramel and roasted malt. Very powerful although the alcohol never becomes too much or dominating. Very discreet hoppiness. Quite a nice Doppelbock. 050206

2.5
fiulijn (20498) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2004
Amber color, brown hue; poor head. Light, strange aroma, with some caramel. Some sweetness, a lot of charamel and a terrible lack of character (but not of strength).
