500ml bottle. Clear filtered yellow color with just a tinge of green. Doughy, pleasant aroma. Rather straightforward and mellow, and down right awesome. This is a great Helles. Interesting light and sweet yeast/malt character, with barely noticeable, minimal, yet balanced hop balance. Wowsers, so creamy and smooth. The ultimate session beer. Sonthofen is starting to sound nice... RblWthACoz (964) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - SEP 21, 2007
Pours almost a clear straw gold - it’s just slighty hazy. Nose is like slightly cooked grains. Flavor is slightly cereal sweet - just slightly. Even though this is a lager and lacks any huge punch in the flavor department, the flavor profile kicks ass. Just a nice smooth and even flavor. Feel is great. Nice and smooth with a good carbonation to it. Extremely drinkable. Sure it is a lager (hey...you know people don’t have as much love for this style because it is not big and bodied), but it’s pretty damn good. StueyD (1582) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2006 Pale golden yellow with a fizzy white head. The nose is a distinctly wheaty aroma with a touch of hops and a citrusy smell. The taste is again a smooth wheaty, and a flavour of cereals, oats, corn and malt. The hop flavour comes through after with the lemony citrus touch as well. The aftertaste is smooth, malty and oaty - like liquid porridge!! philbertk (1873) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 18, 2010

500 ml flip-top bottle in Germany. Light golden color with a large white head. Extremely sweet malty aroma, with some spices and wheat. Nice wheaty, citrusy and hoppy taste with some honey. Smooth, lightly carbonated, light to medium palate. An outstanding Helles!!!

500mL bottle from my LCBO gift pack. Pours a nice pale gold with a large fluffy white head. Looks awesome. Aroma is faint, light pale malts, not much else, nothing to be offended by. The flavour though is much nicer. Really good soft feel, characteristic of the style, delicious biscuity pale malts up front with nice Noble hop presence in the mouth-feel and finish. I actually really like this one and think it’s a great rendition of an under-rated style. This is the kind of beer I could just drink boatloads of. The low rating is either due to old bottles (understandable), or lack of appreciation or understanding of subtelty. Very well done. Saurononline (135) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAR 19, 2012
Straight 4, a good one for a Helles, but nothing special in a overall valuation... Drink it! KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - JAN 16, 2005
Nice bottle. Pours golden yellow with tons of effervescence. Initially it’s a little bitter, but sweetens toward the end. A very solid and extremely enjoyable brew. I plan to have one of these while lounging in der Alps again, someday... Thanks to liquidsolutions.com for shipping this one (after I paid for it, of course.) This beer is golden colour. It has pretty hazy liquid. Head is very white and thick. One of the most delicious foams i have tasted. It has a medium bitterness and tasts quite pleasant. There is no harsh bite on the tounge, very smooth after taste. Amongst things i liked about this lager is light body, but what i didnt like so much is that it had this slick feel and very soft carbonation. Another thing i did not like about this beer is that foam would dissapear very quickly. However, it has such a plesant taste that i wam willing to overlook some of the flaws of the beer. jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - JAN 12, 2007
From a swing-top 500 ml. bottle with a bottling/freshness date on the back label.
Poured a slightly hazy yellowish golden with a foamy, bubbly topped white head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of sticking.
Aromas of honey spread over freshly baked bread and spicy, leafy, lightly herbal hops.
Good, steady moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Pleasant tasting, easy, quaffable drinkability, sweet honey bready with some malty sugariness, spicy, earthy hoppiness that provide a soft, but lingering bitterness in the palate, and a dry malty, Noble hop finish.
I really enjoyed this, a tasty and balanced lager, I wish this had a cheaper price, $2.99 a bottle in my area.
