Cask at Volo. Pours a cloudy orange-copper with an average size semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma’s quite resiny along with some definite cat pee action (that’s good!), some citrus fruit and some malt in the back. Flavour is, again, quite resiny along with cat pee and citrus fruit, well backed by sweet caramel malt. Nice long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good stuff. 3rd annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge tasted blind. Hazy golden pour. The nose is tropical and citrusy. Fresh pineapple and mango. There are also some very light faint fruity esters. A bit of buttery character as it comes up but it seems to just lend a little bit of sweetness. Sort of medium-sweet palate along with a fairly vineous flavour. A little bit of toffee and some light stewed fruit as well. Pretty solid. Radek Kliber (7363) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 12, 2011
