[4751-20120822] Tap. Fruity pineapple apple pine sap aroma. Slightly hazy, brown orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Bitter orange peel and grainy citrus malt flavour has a long bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Nice bitterness, good balance. (7/3/8/4/15) 3.7+

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2012 2012-09-20. Hazy bright pastel orange, off-white head. 3++ Really nice hoppy aroma, sweet then dry orange and tangerine hops. 7+ Flavour has a nice sweet orange and tangerin hop character with modest funk overtones that grow into the finish. Smooth average plus palate, carbonation is soft. Nice change of pace, the hops really stand out from the crowd. Another glass a few days later shows more of the funk and the hops shine a bit less brightly. I am curious if that was just because it was on for a few more days, or if it was simply that the hops stuck out more in the presence of a bunch of funky beers. 8/4/7/3/16+ 3.8 Volo Funk Night, Toronto

2012-08-22. Hazy orange body, nice off-white head and lace. 3+ Flavour is pretty interesting, pretty hoppy up front, with light funky touches in the middle, very light sourness. Interesting, soft fruity character with a mildly funky, dryish finish. 7+ Dry funky farmhouse aroma, fruity undertones, hops are ephemeral. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Enjoyable. 7/4/7/3/16 3.7 Cask at Volo, Toronto

gramity (1668) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 28, 2012
Cloudy orange with tiny head. Aroma of Belgian fruit character, belgian yeast and some fruity hop. Taste has the belgian yeast again with a bitter finish. Lots of lemon and some fruit.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2012 Draught at Volo for Funk Night, Sept.20. Pours a murky yellow-orange with a semi-lasting frothy white head. Aroma: Yeah! A lovely combo of hops and funky yeast, also nice and fruity. Flavour is hoppy first followed by fruit and yeast. Medium bodied. Man, I loved this -- this is the same beer I had before? Either it’s way better on draught or my palate was different tonight, or something.

Original rating: 3.5
Cask at Volo. Pours a hazy orange-amber with an average size lasting fluffy off-white head. Good lacing on the glass. Fruity and yeasty along with light hops, biscuity malt and light herbs. Average bodied. Pretty good, not great, I like it but I don’t want another one. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

On cask at Volo. Appearance: Cloudy orange, small snow white head. Aroma: slightly hoppy, yeasty, quite fruity and 'farmhouse-ish' , lemon. Flavour: bitter, lemon, yeasty, fruity, quite a nice refreshing mouthfeel.

JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 19, 2012
Hazy pale straw colour. Thick white head. The aroma has a touch of spicy Belgian yeast over a moderately hopped brew. A touch of citrus and some minerally character as well. Not sure the cask features this one to its best. A touch of sulfur, but not in a bad way. A lightly minty cooling effect that kind of works though. Interesting stuff.
