End of cask so it looked like milk chocolate with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice fruity esters, with grapes and light molasses, and some chocolate notes. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with light grassy hops, very nice and smooth, light mineral notes. On tap at Volo, Oct. 29 2011. Sammy (12632) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2011

Deep brown pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is softly roasty with a lot of light cocoa and a bit of soft chewy character. There is a little
bit of soft chewiness with a touch of light roast on the back. A bit of spicy/herbal hops. Another pretty tasty pint. mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2011

Cask at Volo. Pours a very deep reddish-brown, almost black, with a small somewhat-lasting fizzy tan head. Sweet and roasty aroma with hints of chocolate, dark fruit and vanilla. Flavour of lightly toasted caramel malt, dark fruit, light leafy hops, hints of coffee & chocolate and a light to average bitter finish. Average bodied. This isn’t what I expected from a Mild but I really enjoyed it, especially on a rainy day like today. Radek Kliber (7470) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - OCT 28, 2011

Aroma highly aromatic, soft frontal hop. Floral feel, hint of anise and licorice. Pleasant. 6+.
Appearance dark brown, lightly hazed. Rocky tanned top.
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. Smooth ,clean , great spread on palate. Woody , nutty with slight roast . Soft drinkable finish. Bitter top end.
October 25, 2011 - on gravity cask at Volo, pre- Cask Days 2011. Almost opaque deep ruby-brown with a decent if smallish frothy beige head. Appealing aroma - more like a traditional English mild - dry and roasty, no alcohol, a bit of cocoa and light fresh green herbal bitterness. Taste is dry, far less roast character, more dessert dryness, almost acidic - again no alcohol and surprisingly bitter. Average body, slick, lightly carbonated with a long, bitter, sort of cocoa finish ---- pretty solid, ultimately. robinvboyer (4740) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 14, 2011
